Years ago one of my cousins was visiting from the mountains of NC. My mother, pressed for time, prepared a sliced turkey and gravy entree. My cousin, always a joker, asked what animal the round slices of meat came from. My mother, without missing a beat, replied, "Thats a Nauga. Its where Naugahide comes from". :P ;D
