Why, pray tell, have the Lyrans been marginalized while another race gets to
use our interface?
I mean is there some kind of financial compensation in place?

On the server side can we have no Starbases or Planets as DNs? I actually got into a planet defense but one of the allies spawned was a Starbase. The game thought it was standard ship because of the shiplist. The Base spawned close to the planet and came in contact with it - and immediately exploded, damaging many allies in the process.
The Dominion crashed on me tonight - I was with another guy in a joint Base Defense mission with a lot of action on the screen and Boom - mission over. We both lost the extra ships we had and gained no prestige. It may be in the shiplist - I think it happened when fighters (PFs in this case) were launched by some ship. It may be shiplist problem - I'll post here what I find about that.
Also - in the shipnames.gf, please make a note to change USS Constitution III to say 'USS Defiant'. I'll have some other name changes as we get along with this.

. I don't think Chuut is giving it a fair shake. I had the same initial impressions, but played it some more. Yes it is a bit like SFC3 but there are still seeking weapons, fighters, weasels... I find it a pleasant break in the routine, perfect for a fun server.

This however is still OP with all the tactics available (seeking weapons and weasels being the most important).

Chris, the Sovereign class ship "1701E" has one small problem. It seems you can not repair damaged transporters during combat. They repair normally in spacedock.

I have been noticing a few things playing the game that might need fixing. I have noticed people posting all over so I'm sorry if i reapeat things. :-[
All of these are single player/
On Borg planetary assalt missions the population is 0 and you cannot capture the planet or compleat the mission.
On diplomatic delivery missions we are comming upon planets with shields. There is no way to get them to drop them and you can't complete the mission.
I have played Romulan 3 times now all the way well past fleet Admrial and have NEVER seen the Scimitar listed in the ship list.
And this last one I'm not really sure about but none of the Feds fighters or PFs, Delta flier,Defiant have Shields and are useless as they are very easily destroyed.
I know that the fighters never had any, but the Delta flier and Defiants should as they did.
All in all, I'm loving this MOD to death! :) And have become hopelessly addicted to it.
I really like the Tholians and have a feeling they are going to become my favorites.

I've been around on that issue and have made the decision that Plasma X is the best choice for quantums until source code (maybe). The heavy photons just don't do the damage a quantum should, IMO.
I just want to state that when Chris get's the mod squared away from the model bugs and get the balance on some ships correct, then this is what SFC 3 should have been IMHO.

Bonk, on other servers I can log on with different names, but I can't seem to do this on your test server. Can you?
Also, I love bashing Andros. Where do they operate on the map? I have not drafted any yet. I suspect they are in the ISC space, but that's a guess.

I never said it couldn't be fun, just said it wasn't for me.
The power allows for such a degree of shield reinforcement, that nothing short of an alpha strike will really dent the shields. I have taken full drone waves and watched as my shield casually absorbed it. Same with Plasma torpedoes, I ran up to a battle station stoped at range 5 and just blew it away, my shields only pinked for an instant as I killed it. Figthers are merely speedbumps that don't really slow you down as you can throw 100 points power in reinforcing a shield run them down and kill them. And should you get hurt 100 spares can heal alot of damage.
So while this might be fun for some, it just doesn't fit my style.
Again, however, let me compliment the designers on the awesome models, weapon graphics, and sound effects.

Actually all tactics may be available but the effectiveness is not nearly the same. A couple of examples are transporter bombs, and fighters. Fighters can be eliminated at much lower risk than in standard OP and transporter bombs are hardly worth the effort. The power of shield reinforcement makes it difficult to use these tactics to get real damage on a shield beyond the reinforcement. When you have over 100 pts left over for reinforcement, the tactics are affected greatly.
