Title: DigitalGlobe's QuickBird satellite imaged the coast of Sri Lanka

 A quote form the satellite's owner; "DigitalGlobe's QuickBird satellite imaged the coast of Sri Lanka at precisely the time the tidal wave hit the beaches. It was pure coincidence."

NOTE: I have gathered the 3 (before, during and after) images into one graphics file to make it easier for comparitive analysis. For those with slower connections this may cause you a slightly longer DL time. It is well worth it.[/color]

I got looking through the comments of the second web site above and  caught this,

As a warning it could be offensive. Summed up best by one of the commenters , " Before and after make you go "wow"; that picture makes you go ".......".

They changed the scale on the pictures which made it harder to figure out how far in the wave actually went and how bad the damage was.  Weird coincidence that they took the pictures just as the wave hit.  I saw a picture on the TV earlier today of a small island that looked like it was right on the coast (or maybe it was a peninsula sticking out, I missed the comments) and after the wave hit almost half of the island was gone.  I mean the dirt/beach was no longer there.  Not to mention the houses, etc that used to be there.

I'd say so too.  If I had kids they wouldn't see this before their teens, when they could choose to see or not.

If this wasn't such a somber thread I would have such a time with that sentence as to relaunch several bawdy vaudeville acts at once...
