This ship is from Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda episode 'The Honey Offering'. The Neitzchian race are divided up into different prides. This ship is Drago I believe though not positive. Finally a top view of the ship was shown and I was able to better complete this version which has just a hint of lavedar in the textures. I used my 1st Nietzian mesh for the front, but the back is all new. A few bugs to iron out as when specularity is on the triangles are visible where I extruded. Only while the ship turns cause the lighting changes. Easiest solution is to turn specularity off or on low in SFC3. SFC2 I am not sure how specularity is handled there. I may get it dead nuts though as I am still tweaking it.
Out of all the ships Iv'e done, this might be the 3rd where I feel I captured the basic essence or feel of the ship. Though I just remembered, this particular version had quite a few windows. Poly count is 12,060 or 700 less for the 1st Nietzchain with a bit more detail I think.

:) Nice.... I like it, looks like the other one though in the other thread? Just less grungey?

LOL are you calling my ships grungy rofl. Well I had to do another version after finally seeing what the top and back look like in an episode I just watched. I'll give a bit of back ground on the Nietzchain race. They are divided up inot many clans, of which none of them get along. One big power struggle. They all seem to use the same ships, however they seam to have at least 2 texture types to help distingush that the ships are on opposing sides. btw Nietzchians are humans that have been genetitacally engineered to be superior to humans. They have bone blades on their forearms. Nietzchians generally look down on non-engineered humans with contempt. They refer to humans as kudges.
Anyway about the mode. If you recall I never showed a top view of the previous version, due to it really didn't have aby features as I didn;t know what they were. Thats why I keep harping about reference pics. :) Thanks for the compliment.
LOL I been thinking about what you said that the ship looks the same. It got me to thinking about Fed ships, and how there are about 2000 kitbashes and someone will create a varient by adding another photon tube. If you look closer between the 2 Nietzchains, the underside is different. The 1st version was seamless front to back with no engines where they are located on this one. This mesh was done in 2 distant fore and aft parts.

This pic should help clarify the changes. Other minor adjustments were made to keep the poly count from increasing. New additions are circled.

Thanks by the time I am done it should render up nice I hope. Small update. Added weapon pods aft and windows. I resolved the triangle issue and smoothed out a couple seams. Poly count is 13,020. Since it already has that many I thought why not add acouple k more. My earlier mesh had some trim pieces that I left off this one. I'll try adding thos to this one, then it will look more complete and truer to how it is presented on screen. Though I must admit I made it look happier than it appeared. In the show it looks a bit rougher. If it ends up around 15 polies I'll probably just use for personal use.
