We are having some interesting problems with Player Base and Player Planet Defense PvP. Sometimes a player can enter an enemy planet or base hex and end up getting a mission choice becoming the defender rather than the attacker. This is very problematic. I'd like you all to run some multiple player PvP using these missions and let me know what happens.
The server generates a PvP mission when a PvP is possible most of the time. So if these are taken out, the attacker will at least have the choice of patrol and so will the defender. If PA or BA is chosen instead of a patrol, then there may not be a PvP if these PvP versions of planet and base assault are pulled, but the mission times will likely take longer for the attack avoiding PvP and they will get out DV'd. That's why it is imporatant to win the hex 1st using bigger better ships and careful planning.
So lets see if these PA and BA PvP missions work right. Quick attention is needed, please.

I'm guessing (?) it's not an issue but "PVP" missions are generated all the time when there's no chance for PVP.
(ie when I've been alone on the server)

Met NW_16 ship defense
Met NW_16 pvp ship def
are both available for me on 14 11 when Im flying Klink
(Its an ISC hex with Base & Planet)
If I move onto an ISC planet I only get attack missions
If I move onto an ISC base I only get attack missions
Planet & base seems to be the problem.

In the hexes with an enemy base or planet, still getting the "defend base/planet" bug. As of 10 p.m., 13/01/05.

Planet & base seems to be the problem.
This will be fixed for a reset tomorrow so we can see if that works. There are, however, plenty of planets and bases to be found seperately. And I believe those hexes come up with the wrong mission sides as well. Can someone confirm?

Personally I havent had an issue running sp or draft on any lone base or lone hex.
Drafted "STFU" (ISC) on ISC planet/base hex in a NW16 shipdef mission.
Mission had host left at start then ended once the first attacker ship (ISC AI) was destroyed.
'STFU" was later killed trying while trying to chip my paint.

I was doing a base defense mission last night as a Romulan and had Fed's and Lyrans attacking me.

What was the Lyran ship designation? And was your base Romulan? It seems these scripts may be a bit peculiar, and I never cared for them myself, but b4 we cut them, lets get more info... EDIT: And did the DV report properly?

All I can add is that it was a Romulan base. There were a lot more Lyrans than there were Feds. Only 1 fed I think. As for the DV, I was around the homeworld hexes so I'm not sure if they were maxed out already or not. I'll keep better track next time.
Funny thing is that before I had gotten on I had read everyone elses problems and was thinking that I hadn't had any problems at all. Guess I should have kept my mouth shut. Or knocked on wood or something.

I posted this in a different ( wrong) thread. C8VK ( me, fantasy) plus ROM improved DN and BC ( they kicked ass, but died) took out an ISC SB ( 4 R, 6 PPD etc.) Tough, but doable. I was correctly Attacker.
Captured the Base just to test that part too - no probs.
MIRVs tend to exhaust the Plas D nicely.
The AI actually fired R Torps AFTER the SB Weasels expired - most refreshing.
