A very quick one here.....
What is the correct pronunciation of "Ticonderoga"?? And does it depend on which side of the Atlantic you're on??
So, option A is: TY-conderoga (as in "neck tie")
and option B is: TI-conderoga (as in "tickle")
Cheers again

I've always heard it pronounced TY-conderoga (option A), but I'm unsure if it is pronounced differently across the pond.

Im an American -=ducks from incoming beer bottles and tomatos=-
ahem -=straigtens jacket=- ive always pronounced it with option A as well.

Well it's clearly not a word of English origin, so it's pronunciation will undoubtedly have become corrupted over time (as most words do)... My preference is "Tih", but I suspect it's most commonly "Ty" but depending on the original vowel stress, it could also be "Tee".

If memory serves, Ticonderoga was a Native American word that was adopted and absorbed into the english language. There is a good chance that the pronounciation of the word has change over the many years, but currently it is pronounced as example A suggests. My advice, look in the dictionary or encyclopedia for history on the word.

I'm going to have to vote for Option A on this particular (American) side of the pond...
