SG4 has been running pretty well lately. Moderate player load and fewer crashes than last weekend. Bonk and I made some great adjustments and we have one more in store.
I have created an error free shiplist. What this means is that the serverkit will now run the DataBase w/o causing errors. Consequently, the DB wont get all messed up causing burps and crashes.
In order to do this, you simply need to D/L the patch installer that will install your new ship and ftrlist. I also need you to relog on again and rebuy your current ship. The map will look the same as of 2273.53, although some hex DV's may be rounded up or down. That's about it. ;)
Patch if you have SGO4 installed, or D/L the new installer if you r playing for the 1st time.

30k for a cpl days then back to what it was. Prestige has sort of been eliminated as a game feature this server. Er, its a feature because it isnt. ;) Other than having to rebuy your ship and having some of the hexes with rounded DV's, all else is the same.

Actually, the larger specialty and capital ships do cost quite a lot and several players have been saving up for them. A few players have amassed quite a bit of prestige on all three teams, possibly saving up for these ships. If prestige counts for nothing on this server, then shouldnt all ships be dirt cheap?

Yeah, like me...I just made Commodore and have over 60K in PP...that's why I stuck my butt in a droner. I had plans... :cuss:
I agree, the Capitol ships need to be made a lot cheaper if we're going to keep resetting like this and throwing a ton of PP away. We've done this on other recent servers, why not here?

Oh, and did I mention that the ISC Allied Lyran-race Pirates can now engine double? ;) Be afraid! Very afraid!
If you dont have a hotkey setup for this, the Lyran interface doesnt have a button. So setup your hotkey, Pirates! Arrrgggh!

Dizzy has worked very hard on this over the last two days (trust me I know). As an analytical chemist I am completely impressed with Dizzy's analytical skills and intellect as a result of this. Please show some appreciation, and just try to have a little fun.

Easy there guys...just having a little RM/RP fun. ;) I'm not REALLY concerend about the PP that much, especially if it means I can finish a tough 30 min mission and come out NOT to find the server dropped.
Sheesh...how come Jinn can post a RP/bitch thread and no one blinks an eye? I post something and everyone gets upset...

Well, one crash since last night and that's prolly cuz Freys machine had a processor spike or momentary connection issue. To be expected from time to time. But not another since last night!
Are you excited? this could be the start of a better D2. I for one was SICK AND TIRED of burps and crashes. No more of that I'm fairly certain.

I'll just give you mine, DH and if you dont want merged klinks and lyrs and merged mirak and hydrans, ill help seperate them and you can take it from there. It will work error free for your next servers, donors and all. And there is just too much to tell on what all I changed other than to say it's error free now.
After every change you make, like adding in a bunch of ships, test it to see if it runs error free b4 making more changes so you dont get lost. A problem may not occur till later in the server year so you'll need to run it thru from 63 to whenever your server ends to make sure it works, preferably thru 2286+ in case someone wants to use what you've made.

if you could post the criteria for "error free" sometime in the future, I'm sure we can make all furure lists comply.

Thanks for the out front update information- it can often be a nightmare if you're not up to the minute and you need to go looking for clues.

just a ship/ftrlist update. It has an installer. Just run it and ur good. But if SGO4 isnt installed, then get the full installer.
