Title: SGO4 Casual PF tender Clarification
Post by: FPF-DieHard on February 07, 2005, 04:41:02 pm
Are casual Mech Links a free upgrade now?

I know the Fast cruiser and capital ships get them for free, what about the other ships? Dizzy's answer was not clear.

EXAMPLE:  Can any pilot buy a K-DWLf ?

Interesting question. All 4 Mirdan CP's were spent on mech link ships last round.

Afair, they are free... Isnt that what we planned DH?

I'd say no normally, as the Lyran's were supposed to get compensated for the questionable PF design
by getting their mechlinks for free.

However if it might actually encourage a Fed to stay in mission for longer than 2 minutes I'm all for it.

We never quite "finished" that with all of our bickering  ;D  Okay, my bickering.

they are marked with "s" but honestly, it's a BS 2 BPV point refit, not a conversion like a Full Tender with repair facilities is.

I don't think it would cause a problem and would help close the gap between "haves" and the "have nots."

A CCH can still beat a BCH, but the gap gets a bit big if the BCH has PFs and the CCH does not.

I assumed the "s" meant they were CP ships, and I saw nothing in the rules to indicate otherwise.

If they are free I would like to redo my CP's for last round.

I suppose our race's shiplists may differ.  But all the "s" ships with mech links that I saw for the Gorn were refits of ships that were "s" ships anyway.

Thus, a G-sCMF was upgraded for "free" to a G-sCMFf, since I'd already bought the ship.  But if I had bought a G-sCMFf from scratch, I'd have paid for it.

That is correct S'cipio.

DH quote above in the 1st post the K-DWLf WITHOUT the proper designation, K-sDWLf, which is indeed a special ship. So if you already own an 's' special or 'c' capitol ship, 'f' PF upgrades are free.

However, if you do not have an 's' or 'c' ship, then you need to 'build' one with CP or BP points.

You MAY NOT fly ships that start with an 's' unless it is build. So F-CBf's and F-ClCf's and K-sD5Lf's and K-sD5Wf's for eample, are ALL special CP cost build ships.

Dont fly them unless you are assigned to them.may differ.

Dizzy, why did it take 2 days to answer that question and you CHANGED THE ANSWER twice.

Do you have any clue as to what you are talking about with any of this stuff?  A little consistancy would be nice.

You're the fricking John Kerry of SFC.   ;D

Remove my 2 J'inn kills because I was in an illegal ship though you flat out said that Casual Tenders were allowed by all.

THAT is why. I was confused by your incorrrect designation, which is K-sDWLf. My apologies, I should have paid more attention to it. I missed the 's'. As we all know 's' ships are build ships.

EDIT: What the HELL is wrong with quoting peeps and having my text NOT appear?

Yeah, you SHOULD have paid more attention as it was a very easy question.  :P

I'll tell my guys to stop flying the F-sCBf, the F-sCLCf, and the F-sNCCf
