Man, am I glad I held off on buying a new P/C! This is going to rock the house when they release it!

Financial Times is reporting that this year IBM-Sony-Toshiba joint ventures will be introducing processors with nine cores and speeds of over 4 Ghz! Can we say "SMOKING?"

I feel sorry for Intel and AMD, they were sleeping while IBM and others were working furiously for the future...

reports have that its the PS3 that will be clocked at more that 4Ghz with 9 core cells but the potencial of this new technology is rumered that it will be possible to exceede 10Ghz+ depending on the number of celles in the device also that cell phones and handheld computers will be using these cell processors but in lower numbers

IBM is claiming these new home "supercomputers" could be the mainstay for the next 25 years. I'm surprised the 3.0 Ghz and up P/Cs held the market for a few years.

The processor itself is old news...and certain specs (probably to protect the product) of the chip were missing in the release in their latest (new) news release.

The big question is what is the cost?
