Link to site (http://www.scifi.com/battlestar/33_full_episode/)
I haven't done the download (on dialup) and haven't seen the new BSG but thought that some here would find this of interest.
EDIT: It is apparently a RealMedia stream rather than download and the framerate is 15fps. Not as good as I originally thought.

I can upload the BSG 2004 episodes from 1-13 that I got from SourceOne (UK).. the only problem withthe episodes is the stupid network logo imposed on top of the movie in the upper left hand corner... the files are AVI and will play in media Player or most DVD software like WinDVD 6...
the episodes are Wide Screen.
For those of you who would like the dpisodes, i can convert to DVD format (actual DVD format with chapters for scene jumping) however i am not sure how many episodes you could burn to DVD.. each episode in AVI format is approx 370 MB.
I conle do the same with the RM format, convert to DVD format, but the AVI format which I have is much more clear and is designed for TV playback and computer monitor full screen playback at 1600 x 1200 format without image degradation..
anyhow, for those that would like the DL, and enough of you who want to Dl it, let me know.. I'm not going to upoload it if only 1 or 2 people want it.. if I get requests of say about 6 people then it would be worth the effort.. send me an email requesting it to Pestalence@gmail.com and let me know if you want the format for AVI for computer or DVD for regular DVD players or DVD software (although AVI will play in about 80% of DVD softwae, just not regular DVD players.
i hope that this helps.. I'll post back if I get enough requests.. (also since this is a UK broadcast record and BSG 2004 is legal for public DL given the link above, it would be legal for me to distribute it, however i will not make it a public distribution.. the URL would change every 6 days to prevent leaching)
Anyhow, let me know and I can get it going this weekend and have it ready by next Saturday (takes 9 hours to convert 1 AVI to DVD format, plus uploading in either zip or iso compression form.. ISO is best for burning as it is a disk image direct burn.. I would have each ISO ready for a 4.7 GB DVD... however Zip format of AVI would allow for burning to standard CD -r, but would only play back on PC systems..
anyhow, email me and let me know, I'll post the results and if it will happen and what format it will be in.
Thanks for your time.

So far only 2 people have responded with intrest in getting the episodes in DVD format or AVI format..
Did I mention that they are commercial free?
-
I already have them.
-
Am i right, if i assume that they are not already released as regular dvd`s with arround 4 episodes per dvd in the USA?

I think you misunderstood, unless someone burns a dvd for you, they are not all available yet. 9-13 have not yet been broadcast in the US. The DVD probably will be out late summer time.
-
haha ,i doubt that, check my original question.

As I emailed to Pestalence, I've burned 1-8 to DVD, 2 eps per DVD but the video quality is a little grainy and editing out the commercials screws up the sound sycn of the second episode on each.

OK.. the episodes I have are a direct copy of Source One as aired in the UK.. it is NTSC display compatible (US) and Source One played the episodes commercial free..
As such, I have them as AVI files, however I have WinAVI which will allow me to converto to True DVD format or WMV or RM or MOV or what ever format I like..
Each episode is 378 MB and is in widescreen format.. the only problem with them is the SourceOne logo in the movie in the upper left hand corner, but it really doesn't detract from the episodes..
These episodes are not available on DVD or VHS in the US or the UK.. it was just a special presentation on SourceOne over the course of Dec and Jan and I happen to have gotten a copy of all 13 episodes plus the original pilot, so in essence, 15+ hours od the BSG 2004 series...
What I am offering is to convert them into actual DVD format and compile them into an ISO format already configured for burning to DVD.. doing this, I can fit maybe 3 to 4 episodes to DVD, in AVI format, I can fit 7 to 8 episodes to DVD...
I just thought maybe some people were here that wanted to get their own copy.. It sure as heck beats watching it on the Sci-Fi web site in the poor RM format in a 1/5th size box or waiting until 2007 for the series to hit DVD or waiting to catch the re-runs on TV..
It is up to you all.. I have made an offer and so far, only 2 have stated that they would like a copy.. but as I stated, I am only going to do this if several poeple want it because it takes about 6 to 8 hours to convert AVI to DVD format with chapter selection, then the time to upload 3+ GB ISO files to the net...
2 people is not worth me taking the effort to do this.. however 10 would be..
It is up to you all.

Is this the type of thing you are talking about?
-
Yes, however mine is in AVI format and I can convert it to Region 1 where that DVD collection is Region 2 or PAL screen format.. US TV's are NTSC or Region 1.. that is the big difference.. basically the image of those DVDs on US TV would be enlongated and/or distorted.

Count me in, I would try a DL in whatever format it shows up in.
Thanks

my dialup connection makes it a little prohibitive to download even a single 1-hour episode, however I am very interested and will send a check to cover the cost of the DVD-/+R's. Just send your info in a PM :)
