This marks the eighth version of this ship that I've released, in almost six years' time. She's posted on DRS, along with a recently/minorly updated Vanquisher.

-

-

Yes! Now that is what a TNG Excelsior with proper fire power should lool like. :o

I actually have all 4 of WZ's incarnations of this fine ship and I can tell ya the original was heads above anything else of it's time just like this version is now. But comparing the 2 obviously is no comparision. But it definately is showing it's age.

Very, very cool. I love it.

I'm not home yet as of this posting, so I haven't installed it yet, but boy, from the .BS file, it looks like a machine polished pewter model painted exquisitely by a professional!
And, I'm toning down my response, in case anyone thinks I'm getting hyperbolic here.
Keep at it, WZ; each wave of models is progression past the previous, and even your very early ones were quite well done.

looks awesome WZ :)

My earlier ones were bad...very bad...beyond bad. They should all be destroyed:

Hey MarkyD! What happened to your sig? That pic was funny, what show was that from anyway?
-
I think his sig originated from some Japanese show named "Domokun" or what not, never seen it (not even in the early-1990s when I was in Okinawa, so it must be something new)...
WZ, although as I stated before that I'm not fond of the "bloated" sections of the secondary hull the Enterprise-B so-called "Refit" had (as well as the Big boxy impulse engines that should've easily melt off the forward-half of both warp nacelles), I still like the design. It looks much improved from your other Relentless designs (although I still like 'em, sort-of... At least nostalgically), and I'm really fond of how you did the rest of the ship. Again, a matter of taste, and I'm sure we don't need to discuss about it again like we had on your forum, as it's your work, your taste that should matter in your designs. And I still like the ship anyhow.
-
Well, to be fair to all modelers, regardless of WZ's last post, we should all think back. Just about every model we could download look sort of like Mk I or Mk II. Remember Maggot's (I wonder what he's up to!) models? Hey, we ALL thought they were the cat's meow in those days; but some of our noobs will blow them away. It's like technology in a world of plenty: it just gets better and the new ones build on the work of the old ones. (The really GOOD old ones build on their own work, as well.)
Yeah, even WZ thinks the old ones ought to be shelved... and he made some of them. But back then we all did think they were quite cool! It's just in the hard relative light of today's advanced generation techniques that anyone might judge them more harshly.
I may not use old models and replace them with cooler new ones, but I won't throw out the CDROMs or Zip disks I store 'em on! I enjoyed them at one time too much!
-
Mk 5 and 6 weren't that bad. I wouldn't mind seeing a texture update to the Mk 6. The Mk 3 has cool nacelles and the Mk 1 has some cool features.
All in all, you should be proud. Look how far you've come. I can't even do the Mk 1. It is amazing how nice the the Mk 8 is. This new one is so sleek and cool. But, where is the quantum torp launcher?
-
Domokun huh? I have always enjoyed watching a show where i have no idea what they are saying, and trying to guess what's being said. My G/F thinks I'm nuts, but it's still fun.
-
Damn nice 8) I mean this last one Excelsior ;D Hahahahah Nice to see you back Wicked Zombie :)
-
Their is hope for us all..... its nice to see your progession through the years all on one page.... ;)
