Title: pls help in install of SFC 3

Hay guys, havin a problem runnin sfc3. I install in, install the build 534 patch and the game keeps on crashin when u try a skirmish or anything like that. Ive tryed reinstallin the game serveral times (wich includes deletein the directory), Tryed reinstallin the DX9.0c and it still doesent work.  Any ideas?

There is a patch that fixes a bug in SFC3 that keeps telling you to reinstall DirectX. I think you can get it either here on Dynaverse or somplace else.

I do have it on a cd somewhere with all my other backups for SFC3.

If his problem is like mine, the game just freezes when you try to start say a skirmish misson

The game doesn't prompt you to install DX

It was, as the guys and gals @ NASA would put it, a "glitch".

And I also have 534b installed

As I recall 534 is the latest patch and includes the DX9 fix

This sounds similar to the problem I have with SFC3.  the game just freezes up midway through a skirmish game, just completely freezes my computer.  don't know what the problem is, I install patch 534 and all, but it still does it.   ::)

It just has install instructions, no dl links

www.sfc3files.com is where I got my 534b

Following all the instructions to the letter I still have the same problem

Perhaps the game hates my FX5200 or something

right click your desktop shortcut, click the compatibility tab (Windows XP) and check in Disable Visual Themes and try agian, fixed ALL my problems :)
