Title: A First review of Episode III
Post by: TheJudge on April 27, 2005, 02:41:50 pm
All I can say is...I hate this guy.  He's seen it...I haven't.  If this review is accurate, I'll be in tears at the end of the movie.

SPOILER WARNING:

One scene in there is really bugging...Anakin killing the younglings.  I mean...it really shows how he's Darth Vader and all...but it gives me the willies.  Yeah, I haven't even scene it yet but it's so...graphic in the spoiler..."What should we do"

'Die' not spoken, which is a GOOD thing.  Speaking it would have made it corny, but just showing the lightsaber hissing open is a great example of how understating something makes it worse.  Gods, that scene is likely to send chills up and down my spine.

From everything I've seen, it's accurate.

Ok... this is now OFFICIALLY making me think about caalling in sick to Drill...

I gotta go play soldier on opening night.

Maybe I can convince the LT to make going to watch Ep. III part of the training schedule. I mean, I did talk his wife into letting ihm back into the house after the soro party we went to that night... he owes me one.

this flick is so satisfyingly tragic, you'll think you're watching "Othello" or "Hamlet".

I read the outline and treatment(*) for this screenplay (written by Lucas) back in '92 and if this film is even 50% of that treatment this WILL be the best StarWars film ever done. So far from everything I've seen in the trailers it has all the heart and dark passion of the treatment.

Jerry

*A treatment is a 20 to 25 page beat by beat screenplay that has most or all of the major events/plot points of the full script sans most of the dialog.

Having read spoilers since Ep2, and heard the audio novel.

I CANT FSCKING WAIT to see this on the big screen.  I'm even going to drive across town on opening weekend to see it in digital.

I having a hard time getting all worked up over this movie after the last two disappointments....

HHGTTG opening this weekend excites me more, though I probably won't see that real soon.
