Title: Map Question
Post by: Hexx on April 29, 2005, 06:32:28 pm
How can I view a map I've designed as it "looks" on the map screen of the campaign?
(so I can see how all the Neb and asteroid/planet hexes look)

easiest way would be to rename the map LateMap and install it into your meta assets folder.

Choose single campaign and late era, and let it set up.  You should log into your singleplayer then looking at your map. ;)

Hmm
That does seem easy.

Is there a more difficult way to do it?

(Thanks Jeff)

Well, you can select the GeneralFederation.mct file located in Assets/scripts/Campaigns folder and edit the starting map name to the map you are wanting to test... move the map to the MetaAssets folder, launch game, and select Single Player Campaign and select the General Federation campaign... then you can view your map...

Slightly more difficult, but same net result.

Bug checking your map is a royal pain in the butt Hexx.   Welcome to hell.

Wow jinn and I are in total agreement...the map tool is not very user friendly but better than no map editor at all
