Hi all,
The Sabre I've been working on for BC is not far from completion. 5881 polys, 4 maps @ 1024x512
Let me know if anyone wants to convert it for SFC.

Well, I don't because I can't (lack of talent), but just a few words of forewarning: You can expect someone will, especially after all the drooling others would do when they come across your fine piece of work. ;)

I hope someone converts this. I would, but I have no software or skill to do that.

YO Mani !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL See I remember this time F_W ;)
-
Just place torpedo launchers on the textures and then this Sabre will be worthy of converting her to SFC... Here's the reference about Sabres Torps ;)

Were'd you get that schematic from?

Ex-Astris me thinks...

Those schematics were originally from the ST: fact files, an official Paramount production thingy but obviously being official from Paramount they always made loads of mistakes like almost completely making up their own design for the Niagara schematics. Nothing wrong with those Sabre schematics though. They look spot-on.
P.S. I can't believe everyone is spelling Sabre properly... :)

Both Sabre and Saber are correct really - just depends on which side of the Atlantic you are. I only spelt it that way because I'm English.
As for the schematics - I had already constructed the mesh prior to finding those pics and though some serious modification was made to get to more of a resemblence, it does differ in many ways - for one where the trek guys placed the registry on the sides was completely bananas as the warping of the texture on the cgi model was horrendous. I moved it down to a more naturally curved bit. As for the torpedo launchers fact-files gets it way of the mark (like I'm surprised ::) ). The forward launcher is the small round turret just behind the main registry on the flat bit. The aft launchers (2 of them) are the round hubs sitting on top of the aft module and are rotating turrets themselves (evidence can be seen in ST:FC where a Sabre fires two torpedoes at the cube from the Port side turret) See enclosed pics of the aft turrets.

Well in proper English Sabre is correct and Saber is not, in American English Saber is correct and Sabre probably isn't.
I'm not surprised actually that the STFF guys got it wrong. In any case is this nearly ready for release, F_W says he's already got it converted...
P.S. F_W - is that just for SFC3 or have you done SFCII/OP versions aswell?
-
Lol - I hope nobody else has got it seeing as I'm the only one with the mesh at present ;)
F_W, I'll send you the 3ds file and the maps as soon as I start the BC hardpoint scripts - regardless of which one is ready first we'll discuss a date and get them both released at the same time. Cheers all
