Title: Non-Starship Model Request (and, well, im back)
Post by: FoaS_XC on May 16, 2005, 05:43:45 am
Hey guiys,
Long time no see, huh?
Well, i hope to casually come back into the fold of Dyna - once i can find my copy of Max5 and start kitbashing again.

But in the meantime, i have a request for any modellers out there:

I would appreciate a Low-Poly androgonous humanoid model with:
 - realistic proportions
 - a poly-count under 12k
 - all five fingers (no blob for a hand like games do)
 - Sphere eyeballs that are seperate from the rest of the body
 - The insides of a mouth (including teeth)
 - The capacity to be easilt morphed into seperate characters.

And i would like someone who wouldnt mind working closely with me, just so i can direct what i need further.

I know this is a lot to throw at people - but ive been looking around for months trying to find models i can use - ive looked at Elite Forces models, and they dont have seperate eyeballs or fingers, not to mention they are proportional and have seperate legs from bodies (which makes it look very ugly)
I have Poser 5 and i downloaded Daz3d's Michael and Victoria - but their poly counts are 80k for the heads alone.

Thanks for your help guys. The sooner this gets under way, the sooner really cool renders will come along.

Thanks for the WB Kurok.

No worries on the model, again, i really wasnt expecting anyone to jump up and down and say "ooohoooh, ill do it!", lol, nice as that would be.

Jedi Outcast models have seperate eyeballs, working mouth with teeth and are all in one piece. Even got the fingers too. Sounds like a match for what you need... 8)

If you consulted people who make game models for Quake, Unreal Tournament, or the Star Wars Jedi games, you might find what you are looking for.

Unreal Tournament 2004 models look nice, but they don't have mouths or seperate eyes.  You can use the game engine to do animations, though.  Unreal Ed can build scenes and can be used to set up a movie which is played in the game as a normal game map.

Alright, so ive tried going to elite force 2, half-life 2, and Jedi Knights.

The Problem is getting it into 3d Max undistorted and i havent been able to do that, So i am still in need of the models in this request.

Thanks guys.

Have u got milkshape? it has a useful exporter for Jedi Knight character models, I *dont* think that it stuffs the models up in conversion. Maybe you could try exporting them in that then into max...?
