If you want stock Klingon Academy Fed ships for SFC1 and/or SFC2, consider this:
The stock F-FF in SFC1/2 is the Okinawa-class FF in KA.
The stock F-DD in SFC1/2 is the Akula-class DD in KA.
The stock F-BB in SFC1/2 is the Yamato-class experimental BB in KA.
The ones missing are the F-CC/Lexington-class and F-BB/Missouri-class.
I only have some of DD's SFC1/2 KA conversions, mostly SFC1 though, and they're Klingons. I wish I could have 'em though.
Moonraker's Models (http://www.universeatwar.org/drs/Moonraker/) are old, but good ones nonetheless, and even have Fed ships from KA (re-modeled and/or retextured). The Fed KA ships include the Okinawa, Akula, Lexington, and Missouri I believe.
You'll have a better chance with Wicked Zombie's Demon Renegade Studios (http://www.universeatwar.org/drs/index2.htm) however. The KA ships he modeled are actually scratch-built models both Federation and Klingon (as well as several other great models he made). He didn't make all the KA ships however, just ones he liked, but note that he didn't only model ships from other games (and not only Fed and Klink designs). I highly reccomend him for finding high-quality models for SFC1/2/3, even the ships he made that were designed for KA.

Does anyone know how to extract and convert the models from Klingon Academy?

KA models are LWO-files (lightwave) so you need an 3d programm that imports LWO-files and exports SFC MOD-files, the only problem may be the much texture maps thta the most models have

How do you get them from the game? I can't find any LWO files. Are they contained in the data.dat file? If so, how do you extract them?

i have alot of wickedzombies ka style models. the reason im looking for the conversions is that i need lowpoly models - thats why i asked for some a2 conversions in another topic.
i also emailed terradhyne to ask him about some of his a2 ships. was hoping he had those in sfc2 format as well.

you need a programm named KA and SFA extractor, to extract the files that are packed in the data.dat-file

There is an ST: ARMADA Klingon Academy total Conversion. For the life of me I can't remember Squire James [?] site.
Here's one place to start: http://armadafleetcommand.com/afc/modules.php?name=Downloads

here are a couple of plugins for 3dsmax version 3 and 4 to allow you to import LWO files the only thing is that you lose all texture mapping during the conversion

I found the mod, but I can't find anything about Squire James or his site here.

Okay, I found some more info about Squire James and his mod here http://squirejames.tripod.com/modders.htm and it says that Terradyhne is the one who extracted and converted the KA ships. Terradyhne, do you still have that program? If so, could you email it to me? My email address is a_co_trumpet@msn.com

I also found a program called Game Extractor here http://www.watto.org/extract/games.html
It lists Klingon Academy as one of the games supported by the full version, which costs $5. Has anybody here ever used this program before?
