Title: So hows the trash pick up in your city

Here in Oklahoma City Ok it sucks noon and still have not picked it up. At least in Wichita KS they were there by 7am at least.

I'm in an apartment.  Trash pickup seems to be totally random.  The dumpster is either overflowing or empty whenever i dump something off.

Don't have pickup, we now have transfer station to replace the now closed dump.

I have to pay for a private company to come out and pick it up, or take it to the landfill myself... and pay to leave it..

Really?  Why?  Do you live in BFE or something?  :-\

We get ours picked up every Wed and Sat. usually sometime before 1pm.  Depends though there have been times when they don't come round till the next day but that's mostly because of major holidays.

There's a convenience site near my house. I take it there and leave it. The county takes it to the landfill. I pay for it in a round about way though. My property taxes includes dumping fees, but I can dispose of as much trash as I like. Including applianes, motor oil, and household toxic wastes (like paint). Doesnt cost me anything more.

Oklahoma was on a big "Privatization" kick for a while.  Outsourced everything.. garbage dumps, prisons.. even the county jail.  After the private company that runs the jail accidentally released the wrong prisoner for the 10th time in 2 years, the Sheriff is finally taking it back over.

We had the same crap in Travis county when they outsourced to Wackenhut, until it broke out that many of the male security guards were banging female prisoners in exchange for small favors!

It is unbelievable here.

If you dump your leaves, or grass, or branches..whatever... in a pile next to the curb, they will come around with the "claw" and scoop it up and carry it away!  For free!  Really, no joke!

I couldnt believe it either, but it is true.

Its not free either. Believe me, you pay for it.
