Yes, my back is better to the point I can do a little modeling. :) This is based on the Lancelot class from EAS fleetyards...couldn't get the shuttle hangar right so eff it. ;D What ya think?
-
Oooooo, is that what I think it is? Estimate time till completion?
-
Not really sure...haven't done anything in a while...hurt my back and can't sit for long. :( I'll start mapping and texturing tomorrow, and I'll keep ya posted. :)
-
is this meant to be the Constalation class? I always hated that ship, but will be interested on how this one turns out.
-
No...did one of those already,,,this can be seen as a replacement. ;)
-
Glad to see you back Sandman. I like a lot of your models and am very glad to see you doing models again based on the EAS site (those are some of my favorite Star Trek ships).
Hey, do you have a website where I can download your models? I seem to have lost your web link assuming you had one in the past.
-
Cool! I actually like the Constellation. (Call me strange, because I like the Ent. B as well. ;D)
Nice to see you back, man. I've had some back problems in my time. Although, nothing as bad as you do, evidently. So, I can "feel your pain".
-
Welcome back bud !
Take it easy on the re-entry ! Dont over do it ! You will get done when you get done ! We can wait .....
( sooo you think by this week end ?)
JUST KIDDING !
;D ;D ;D
-
First of all Im glad your back is a little better. Back problems really suck I know...
Overall I like this design. My only quibble regarding the design is that the warp pylons, esp the two vertical ones, seem to need some beefing up. a little too weak looking. Otherwise
-
Thanx guys!! ;D
Yeah, the pylons need a little work as well as the bridge module...too "triangley". :P Also thinking of adding a couple of dual torp launchers on the cross bars. ;)
M357, I used to have a site, but couldn't afford it so... :( I am a member of Outalance and have some space there, just need to figure it out and u/l my stuff. ;)
-
Kinda reminds me of a Cheyenne prototype
-
OK, beefed up the crossbars and added some torp launchers, started the texturing...had to stop, gave myself a migraine again...damn head. :P
-
I actually like this ship MORE then the Cheyenne. ;D
Nice work so far Sandman. I do agree with you about the Bridge, I don't think its suppose to be that "Triangly". But I know from experience with my own models how difficult it can be the shape things the right way you want them to be.
-
is it just me or is there a symetry problem with the triangular bridge module?
-

Umm could be the lighting. Appearance might (or might not:)) be improved if Sman where to make the front of the triangle more rounded than the other two, and stretch it out a bit. just an idea...
-
I agree with Lord Schtupp about the triangle, but I've noticed in my own models that things tend to get asymetrical if you're not careful. There's one WIP (Yamato class) that I've practically abandoned because the symetry got so bad. I'll get back to it and fix it eventually.
-
OK, fixed the bridge...what ya think?
-
I think it fits the era better. I assume this is something on the order of the cheyenne? Or atleast thats the era (eraly tng)?
-
Yeah, more of an early TNG/late Lost Era.
-
It totally works for me as the go between for the Constellation and Cheyenne.OT how's the Wanbunda coming along ?
-MP
-
yea sman I like that bridge much better - yessir that will be a nice model when done
-
Thanx guys! ;D
MP, been working on the wifes puter (used to be mine so still has max and PS), but gonna see about flip/flopping between the 2 to get these done. ;)

WOOHOO !!!!!!!
And there was much rejoicing.............

Hehe, now I just have to figure out how to get the line tool in PS cs to act like in PS7...some reason it now is a vector tool. :-\ Oh well, I'll survive. :P
-
OK, a little more texturing done. IMHO, it's turning out pretty good so far. ;D
-
This is starting to look killer. Only gripe is the registry. She looks a bit off center to me. But that's easily fixable. When will she be finished?
-
Hey Sandman, have you done any other EAS ships? I can't remember if you did or did not.
-
A couple...the Java ftr, the Eagle and the Fabrux tender. Planning on more. ;)
-
Hey "Sandman"
looks good sir .. the only thing that needs attention are the warp nacell pylons. Me thinks they are still a little small for such a fine design as what you have so far. The front profile can still be thin .. but they still need to be "beffed up" just a tad to provide proper support.
Other wise ...
looks good !

-
I'm not sure about that OlBuzzard, I think Sand might have it pretty close to the original specs, but I do think he needs to add more Z-axis width to the pylons. Was this what you where referring too?
Hey Sand, are you going to redesign the Aft section of the ship? It seems a tad small compared to the original specs.
-
Yeah, I that's what he means. Easily fixable. :)
-
Well, some more texturing, and I beefed up the pylons some...whacha think?
-
OK, well, have most of the 2ndary and the struts mapped, I'll post some pics later.
I just noticed something...there were no impulse engines on the drawing, and when I made my alterations I forgot to add. Where would you put them?
-
How about on either side of the back of the saucer like the Galaxy class saucer? I think that would work well.
-
Try Ent B style to the outside of the narcelles on the back of the saucer. Or on the back of the warp pylons.
-
OK, still have to add some details, but the 2ndary is mapped...here's a few shots...
-
What about putting the Impulse in those grey spots on the back of the saucer? Lookin good so far dude.
-
personally I think MP's idea of putting the impulse on the warp pylons is good !
BTW !!
great job Sandman .. keep it comming !
-
Here's another thought, try something completely different and add the deflector to the rear of the secondary hull.
-
Would that not negate the purpose of the deflector?
-
I say have the Deflector imbedded in the front of the saucer section kinda like how the Enterprise-D has a small deflector grid inbedded in its saucer section, used when the Saucer seperates away from the Battle section at warp speeds.
As for Impulse engines, I didn't notice that before Sand. The original sketches don't seem to show any type of Impulse system. I say if your going to add impulse engines, they should be centerlined and not on the Pylons.
-
Well, the deflector system is like on the Constellation, uses other systems to achieve the same result.
Been thinking of putting the impulse on the rear of the 2ndary...what do you think?
-
If you do the "center line" thingy ... I would put it on the primary hull. If you decided to put it on the secondary .. hmmmm well I think close to the secondary .. but still on the pylons.
Either one of the two ...
Out side of that .... your choice !
-
Hey Sand, I was looking over the schematics of the ship from EAS and I think the sketches do indicate a type of deflector. Its really small, but on the cross section of the bottom Pylon, there seems to be a tiny light blue are that might indicate a small Deflector emitter.

I took a look as well and it does appear the lower saucer dome is blue and could very possibly be the deflector, I can also see the area Magnum is referring to as well. And it appears as if in the center of the Top Pylon crossbar there's a photon launchers as well.
-
Justnoticed that now you mention it...that'll work. ;) Now to decide the impulse. :P
-
OK, well, kinda in limbo again...back went downhill again...just not as bad as before, so I'll be working on this, just a little slower. :-\
TAKE CARE OF YOUR BACK!!! THIS REALLY SUX!!! :(
-
OK, did the impulse as per atheorhavens suggestion and it looks right...what you think?
-
yeah ! those look ok.
I think you can do the torp launcher off of the vertical nacelle supports (like you see in some Fed DD's )
-
OK, almost finished. ;D
-
Hmmmm shaping up dude... very nice, looks low poly yet detailed.... nice work.
-
Looks good ...
will there be a torp launcher ?
-
Yep...still have to do that and the deflector and the sensor dome...then the brk and the hp/dp. :P You know me...when I have a WIP thread I show every step, or at least each days work. ;)
-
Its looking very nice Sand.
Also, I hope you post this ship and your other models somewhere. I would really like to download them.

cool !

Yup, looks great... the low height engines were what it needed. ;) Makes it more finished this way..

Thanx!! After I get this done, I'll be getting the upload procedure from F_W so I can finally get my spot at Outalance going.
