Lucas Gives Indy 4 Script Thumbs Up
With Harrison's approval, it's ready to go.
May 31, 2005 - More news on the next Indiana Jones film emerged this week, and it's good. George Lucas has finally given his sanction to the script Steven Spielberg delivered a few weeks ago. The latest treatment, which is based on a rejected screenplay by veteran Frank Darabont, was written by Jeff Nathanson (Rush Hour 2). According to Variety, Nathanson and Lucas spent some time together at Lucas's place to go over the draft before declaring the new version a success.
Spielberg's decision to bring Nathanson in on the project seems to be working out well. Nathanson also reworked screenplays for Spielberg's recent dramas The Terminal and Catch Me If You Can.
Although the biggest obstacle facing Indiana Jones IV – getting Lucas's approval – appears to have been cleared, a few more hurdles remain. Actor Harrison Ford must give his approval to the script, and the moviemaking trio – producer Spielberg, producer Lucas, and Ford – need to coordinate their schedules. Spielberg in particular is currently busy with his drama picture based on the 1972 Munich Olympics (currently titled Vengeance), and Ford will soon be shooting the science fiction film Godspeed.
With any luck, we'll soon be hearing a pre-production announcement for Indiana Jones IV. The final outing of adventurer-archaeologist Henry Jones Jr. could make it to theaters in 2006.

Hmmm... maybe he could be persuaded to reprise Han Solo in an "Chapter VII" SW sequel. Makeup should no longer be an issue...

:woot: indeed!!!!
I am a DIEHARD Indy fan and I can't wait to see what they have him going up agianst this time. Though due to Ford;s age, I'm pretty sure that Indy isn't going to be KO'ing very many Nazis this time. Maybe he could be trying to save some priceless Imperial Chinese relics form the Reds?

I'm sure you Recall the Pilot for Young Indiana Jones? I want to see Indy loose his eye and Leg, like they Portrayed him in the series.

BTW loved that series. Indy had a knack for meeting historical figures :)

Or maybe some artifacts the Soviets seized from Germany?

What?
No one thinks Ford should reprise Han Solo in a future-set SW flick??

Actually, I heard that Harrison Ford isn't very willing to reprise his role as Han Solo. From what I understand, he doesn't really care for the character and doesn't think Han Solo was very well developed in IV, V, and VI. He would much rather play Indiana Jones that Han Solo.

That was my Understanding also. It would be nice seeing the Twins though on the big screen. To this day, One of my Favorite Ford movies is Air Force One. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Sequal to that film.

VI, I can understand. But IV and V? Solo was my favorite character in both of those movies.

Well...
... there's his chance! It could be his chance to bring the character better to life! Imagine a wizened ol' Han Solo nagging and telling this head master Jedi what to do, "Trust me, Luke!" That in itself would be worth the price of a NYC movie ticket!

If the guy would read some of the books, he'd see where people wanted the character to go, and (I feel) be quite happy.
Anyways, I think that Indy IV is cold war setting. Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure.
I mean, quote me if I'm right, just not if I'm wrong. :D

Almost every single rumor about a new Indiana Jones movie that I've heard for the past several years suggests a cold war era movie too. I hardly ever believe what I hear in rumors like that, but when every one of them says the same thing, it's hard not to think that they might be right.

Great find!
Though I doubt that the movie will be based on the game "Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis" since anyone who has played the game would already know the storyline.

Indiana Jones and the Templar Gold..
Oh wait.. that was National Treasure..too bad they beat him to it.. ;D
