Ya know Sandman it seems you really have a gift for bringing EAS designs to life, when your back is better perhaps you might wanna consider doing some more of them. ( That is after I get my gun, and your awesome Wambunda are finished. LOL j/k) I've always liked the EAS ships but the drawings on the site never really did anything for the designs, but seeing them when you're doing them sheds new light on 'em. I'll be looking at that site differently now.

Hey Sandman check out this "LOST ERA" Design...............
http://www.starshipmodeler.org/gallery9/js_liberator.htm
-
That's a pretty cool ship. I'll add it to the ever-increasing ships that I would like to make "sometime in the future" (which means "I might make it, but don't have your heart set on it coming out soon").
-
That seems more of a TNG design, but with some tweaking.... :P ;D
-
"Pre" TNG
Late TOS ? Maybe?
just a thought !
-
Well according to the builder it's based on the FASA- Decker Class. An Excelsior/Ambassador Hybrid secondary hull, with Cheyenne nacelles, with a swept wing Galaxy look angled like a Sovie sketch in the TNG sketchbook so............ with "tweeking" ;) It could easily be a pre-cursor to the Decker Class, or as the builder states the Rigel class U.S.S. Liberator. That would place production anywhere from 2320-2350.
-
Damn, that's a fantastic TNG-era ship. I'd love that and a horizontally-elliptical saucer variant, too. ;D
-
I was just going by two things (primarily)
1. saucer hull design
2. over all texturning
Those two elements IMHO tend to date it just a tad toward the VERY eraly TNG ot lost era (pre-TNG)
-
As I look at it, if I discount the paint job and go with ship profile and such, I can see a Lost Era paint scheme and it does fit well...just gotta squint a little. :P ;D
[EDIT] Just went and looked some more...from the side it looks like it could be an early Sov. prototype...or maybe a frigate detailed after the Sov. :-\
-
Smaller design of a Excelsior ? ( late design of course ) ...
oh well.. It's you call bud !
funny how we can all look at the same model and have so many intripitations isn't it !

That's a great scenario F_W, BUT this is someone's ship. It already has a class and a name and reg. and a history ( albeit a vague one). Definately hang on to that history I may have a ship to fill it in about 3-4 days ;).
