Title: Computer question (problem)

I uploaded a rar file to my ftp. When I try and DL it my browsers open it up as a text file (it looks like I'm looking at it in a hex editor) instead of DLing it. If I paste the URL directly into a download manager it works fine. I had a friend of mine try DLing it and it did the same thing on her PC. Any idea what's causing this?

I tried it with 3 different browsers and it does the same thing. I tried DLing it with 2 different download managers and it was fine.

I am not a software nor systems guy, but most people have found that if you right click on the file entry and choose "Save (Link) Target As" it downloads correctly.  I suspect Mozilla based browsers were not equipped to recognize the .rar format.
