Title: Need Dominion Designs!

I want to build an entire Dominion fleet to go with the models that I've made already, however I really need designs! I've got a few from Azel, but I want to fill all of the fleet roles, everything down from a lowly freighter through to a Super-Carrier.
So get your thinking caps on and get sketching! (Pretty please!)

I've already done a Battleship, a Warship, the Strike Cruiser from DS9:DW is getting there, the bug's done and I'm making a new Cruiser atm.

Does anyone have the SOA models from the Homeworld mod? I want to get some ideas from the designs, I've got a few very small pics but they're not as helpful as being able to look at the 3d models.

Oh deary me, they're all just manipulated versions of what looks like a Millennium Project Battleship - except for the private yacht which isn't all that inspiring. I understand the poly count issuses with Armada, afterall I made quite a few models for it, but this isn't a very good example!! I hope this doesn't sound too harsh!

Post by: Smiley on June 27, 2005, 03:37:05 am: The Strike Cruiser IS the DCL, I don't know whether anyone had noticed but the model's from DS9:DW weren't that great, the ventral surface just has the same texture as the dorsal if you look closely enough, which you would if you had to model it...! lol

Thanks for the pics, I'm not too sure about the Super Carrier.... it looks too smooth because they didn't put enough polies into the design!

They want to use your work (over at BCU) so you might want to check it out for that reason and all the bashes/new designs in that thread. Most of them are crap in the quality area but someone who knows what they are doing will make them rock.

Hmm... I am slightly puzzled by the thread that you speak of over at BCU....
There are several mentions of a ship by you... Are they under the impression that you can model now?
And all of the pictures show the same thing, when you click on one it just links back to the thread that you were in to begin with and there are no images.

Can you clarify what's going on?

Interesting. Well the Carrier is no big deal and probably not needed, unless you are making SFC 1 and 2 versions. I didn’t notice the bottom of the Strike Cruiser was the same as the top lol. Now I can see why you are still having trouble with creating a nice bottom. I suggest just using the same pattern as the Battlecruiser, just made to fit the shape of the Strike Cruiser. But it is up to you since you are the modeler. I look forward to these releases.

You seem to be confused. I said "Do you know what the Dominion is?", not "Do you know what Dominion Wars is?". The latter being a game in that context, the former being an empire from DS9... - the vessels of the Dominion being the subject of this thread, not 20th or 21st century fighter jets! Thankyou!
