Title: Someone tell me if Im wrong about sfc1 maps

SFC 1 can take bmp's but just not above 512 correct?. Havnt done anything for SFC1 I dont remember If it can or not.

I have no idea.  I just know that it can't handle illumination maps.

The only thing SFC1 can't handle are illumination maps. I've played ships in that game with 1024 sized textures and it was no different from the other games.

i don't know what i might have done or how i really did it but when i had a copy of SFC-1 Gold Edition, i started downloading models that were of high res, 512 and 1024, quality that had illumination.

i kinda did some tweaking with the texture files and such.

the only thing i could not do was transfer EAW and OP models to SFC-1 GE.

You have to remove the illumination mapping from the models to get them to work in SFC1.  Just deleting the illumination maps won't work.

My advise is to use 3DS Max simply and remove them in MAX's material editor ;)
