Well I tought i might play on AOTK2, if my computer permits me.
Installed the game from scratch, patch it to 2500-2552, I downloaded direct X 9c ( I haven't downloaded any script missions or anything yet)
Wanted to see if I could log on the dyna and I got a message I never got before but I know plenty of people got before. There's a firewall or you are not logged in. I was logged in, I don't have a firewall on my comp. Was up with that?
Any idea's or do I need to download more stuff first.

How about the WONserver directory change address?

How about the WONserver directory change address?
ah, I remember something like that. What must I do?
-
Somebody made an installer for it. I'll look around the site here. there was also a thread with what you needed to do to edit the WON server address...
-
Yeah you need to install Pesty's thingamabob
http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163355999.0.html
Some kinda link included in it as the dirsectory servers have changed- likely why you're gtting the message.

PM me your email and I can send you the installer when I get home in 2 hours if you like.
-
thank you.
I'm downloading it right now. Big file, 145mg. speed 20kb a sec, now 34 kb a sec. This will take forever.
Wonder why it's that slow. I got high speed.

From Darkelf awhile back if you want to edit your directory...
I've just spent the last six hours getting the directory servers to run. And it was pure hell too. Oh well, what is my torment to your enjoyment, eh?
To get your copy of SFC2 back running, please do the following:
Open your
C:\Program Files\Taldren Software Inc\Starfleet Command Orion Pirates\MetaAssets\ServerProfiles\Multiplayer\
folder. In it there is a file called WONServerSetup.gf. Edit this with a text editor, preferably Notepad.
Make the following changes to this file:
[WONDirectoryServer/Addresses]
0="63.101.60.125:15101"
//0="sfc2.west.won.net:15101"
//1="sfc2.central.won.net:15101"
//2="sfc2.east.won.net:15101"
Save the file and your ready to enjoy SFC2:OP in all it's glory and splendor.
People running servers will also need to make a change as well, as follows:
Open your folder containing your server, navigate through your Assets\Server Profiles\_CentralSwitchPlusAllServers\ directories, find ServersSetup.gf, and make the following changes:
[WONDirectoryServer/Addresses]
0="63.101.60.125:15101"
//0="sfc2.west.won.net:15101"
//1="sfc2.central.won.net:15101"
//2="sfc2.east.won.net:15101"
Save the file. Your server is now able to launch.
I ask a moderator or administrator sticky this post to the top, as it is vital to get your game back running.
Thanks!

I have just the installer, not the whole enhancement package. or take 2 minutes to follow the DarkElf procedure....

I just hope it works.
my comp has been acting funny lately. Every hour or so I get an explorer error and need to shutdown for at least 10 minutes and then reboot. I think my fan is dead.
-
May be bad RAM too- had some of that lately & that's what it sounds like
Had the fan thing too & that ain't fun- if it smells funny, probly the fan- all you have to do is look & see if it's turning as it should always be doing so when its on

Actually, the edit required to WONServerSetup.gf is the following:
[WONDirectoryServer/Addresses]
0=client.sfc.dynaverse.net:15101
1=client.dynaverse.net:15101
2=sfc2.directory.stasis.ca:15101
