Just curious-since ships aren't worth anything on AOTK2 are we going

Well I don't know about a kill list....but since I don't see anyone else posting one since the start of the server here goes....I have killed Mutilator deep striking in rom space on a klingon hex with a base...killed hydran Masterblaster near a rom planet in the middle of the map...killed an isc fa frey xc in same hex near a rom planet in middle of map....I know this doesn't count for sh*t but what the hell...I am having a blast. Thank you all for making my day :)............. Reejr

Well never really got much fun posting my kills (ok maybe a few times way way back I did but not lately), instead I'll post my
THEY KILLED ME LIST
been Killed 2x so far but only 1 was really legit
A) Jakle and I (D7C and KR ) Jakle got hurt bad and went down -- I followed shortly afterwards..
(sorry I forget who we were up agaisnt might have been bearsalyer/DH/762 a combination of two of those guys
b) Ugh last night nasty ass death due to lag...A20risky in a ISC Ca vs my KRC... had a host left message at begining and we didnt worry to much about it-- game starts up and we play -- Hell i was taking damage when I didnt see weapons hit me -- I was taking phaser damage from long range thur shields -- then all of a sudden I find myself in tractor from range 20 and down I go -- this game was so bad I actaully went back to view the film and see what the hell was gonig on -- the film showed a few things I didnt see in the game -- ie film showed that his ship was jumping to the side and that is how his phaser did the damage from a down side shield where as in my game view it was going thru the rear shild which was up..very glad I didnt call the other guy a cheater or anything -- pays to just watch the film afterwards and see what happens..but damn those lag jumps are nasty .... was being hit with weapons I didnt even see..
C) The more I think about it I might have died a 3rd time when I ran into some Hydran fighters and got nailed bad -- was using the F1 overview and was panned out so far that I didn't even see my ship getting close to the fighters untill those cannon took my engines down to 23
Anyways having a GREAT time on the server so far and glad to see no bitching or whinning -- hope that keep us..

Died again in an H-LB with t00l on my wing. We had got a Host left but decided to try fighting 3 Guys in the Asteroid belt anyway. I, um . . . ., Kinda ran into way too many Type-IVs

Hey - I was on the Rom border, and my damn Rom AI wings cloaked and threw me to the wolves!
Lost my D7C to t00l and DH (WHO RUN'S BARTERTOWN!!!)...I am blaming this on the monotony of repeated AI missions lulling me in to a stupor - that and Duck was sleeping on the job and not telling me what to do. After 5 years, you'd figure the guy would know that if he doesn't tell me what to do, I'm going to fly like crap.....
I think that's it though....
Oh, and I was forced on off the map by Mutilator and the Lyran Secret Weapon (aka TT), whose use of the diabolical 'NEWFIE DYALUP CONNEKSHUN' device vaporized by two wings and left me alone to face two L-CC's....

I'd actually hope they weren't the SPEED 16 [/size] drones, becasue that would
really work against your claim of not needing a DNH to survive in this dangerous game.
Oh won't someone please tell me there's a screenshot... preferably with t00l ship's sitting there gutted alongside him, but either way I'm good really.

Jakle may have a film of those drones if you really want I think he logged off not to long after that game -- PM TODAY before he gets home to check his films if you want the copy ...
To be honest you two were doing well -- up till that mistake --we were a little frustrated with CO-ORDINATION -=
Jakle and I (Rom_Duck) were on TS -- Reejr in the D6DB wasnt -- remember thats why I asked if team chat worked..
Anyways I give you two credit for two issues -- sticking around to fight a 3v2 game -- and for flying in those rocks -- that was the same map Dizzy and I had -- Would/Could have been a very interesting match up if you hadn't got hungry and decided heavy drones would make a good dinner -- I am guessing you screwed up on PD issues like tractors and PD phaser -- god knows I do from time to time

Got Paladin in his CC with my D7C later in a 1v1, and got toasted last while deepstriking by...by...*grrr*
Some Hydran flying an LB...srry, you know how it is after baking in the sun all day followed by a couple of icey beers... :P

TT and I in L- DD's kill Rom Mrouge day one while he was deep striking one of our bases.
I have been killed a few times on deepstrikes. Those Rom battle stations are a B'otch :banghead:
Jakle D7C, RomDuck KR and I think Mrouge D6D? gang banged me while deep striking ridgehead two. Another brave Klingon took out my L-CC in a drag back deepstrike with Dizzy.
Server is great lots of action keep it coming! :dance:

Run off two players.
But my favorite was after deep striking 10 bases the other morning... I ran into Kurok, in the last hex before I got back to friendly space....
We came in and savaged each other.... bloody.... like a rare steak.
My F-CC AI & my LB attacking his D7C and his AI D6.
Well.... I got pwned by the D6 with lots of help from Kurok. But he went down first. ;D
Then my AI proceeded to kill his AI... ship lost... mission won... tactical victory, eh?

762 must have been drinking to much Scotch on the Bridge of his H-LB. In My Z-DF I took him out. :o
Well thats my one PvP victory this server. Now back to my regular duty as a moving Target Drone for the Alliance and Coalition forces. ;D

Gorn DNE (me) and Fed CC (Braxton)
vs
Klingon D6D (Mrogue) and Rom KR (RomDuck)
Braxton and I managed to kill Mrogue's D6D and ran off RomDuck.
Wonderful match guys!! Sure, we had you on ship size, but you guys threw everything but the kitchen sink at us. I would not expect less from the KHH. I have always enjoyed battling you guys whether in the PBR league or on a SFC-OP server and this match was no exception.

got killed dead by MRogue (lag jump and tractor)
Jumped some Hydran (uhmm name escapes me..why can't peeps use their own names grr)
Managed to kill Komodo, who ripped the crap out of my deepstriking ship
before he died.
Some nameless hoser then jumped my crippled ship, and after suffering internals himself (for shame) managed to
make me SD.
EDIT : Also managed to annoy Fed RM enough for him to plead for /ignore channel to be included.
Not an altogether bad day.

Let's see.... the game so far.
Match 1
Met MaudDib in his D6-D and some AI Klink heavy frigate in my G-vCA along with my AI Fed FFC. With a slow-drone D6D vs. a G-vCA, the odds are exceedingly in my favor. Odds are I won't even be damaged. But, having G-torps, I have virtually no chance of killing him if he decides to leave. Well, 'Dib's courage is strong and would have nothing to do with running! Not even after I'd crippled most of his weapons but left him with enough power to make his escape.
"Come and get me, you fool!" he screamed. Spoken like a true Klingon! He definitely has the heart for the role. He killed my AI, I killed him, and then when I turned on his AI the game crashed.
Match 2
Met and defeated a20risky's I-CAW and some AI "thingy" in my G-vCA with another AI FFC.. A relay, really fun match surrounded by dust clouds. Again, my AI died first. I got the better of the plasma ballet and killed a20risky, but he managed to tease out a weasel with a volley that would have been devastating if real, and so hit me Th a final good plasma strike that wiped out several weapons and dropped my front shield. Then I had to suffer the ignominy of running through the dust clouds with no front shield in order to avoid the AI's plasma. Eventually I killed the AI too, but it really managed to irritate me for a while!
Match 3
a20risky decides for a little payback, and this time he brings Chuut with him. That's another I-CAW and a L-CF vs. my G-vCA. I decide that discretion is the better part of valour, and so after an initial pass I book for the border. You know something, these maps are huge! LOL. Chuut's repeated disruptor fire manages to drop my rear shield and score an internal or two before I get off the board. (I love the big maps, by the way. It always bugged me that, in space, the map has borders at all.)
It's been a load of fun so far. Let's keep it up!

Killed Soreyes in what was I think the first PvP of the entire server. LN vs DF - I flew great drone defense, probably because I was flying a POS. My drone defense skeelz went rapidly downhill thereafter, as will be seen.
The aforementioned 2v2 with myself and DH vs Jakle and Duck was fun.
Killed a20risky twice in a Templar. He tried to overrun me. I let him. Overrun a Templar??
Then there was Hexx. Ugh. ::) I guess he owed me some payback after years of abuse. Seriously, he got me good, I should have anticipated the threat given it was a marine ship but I didn't. I was well and truly pwnt. BUT....the server is still young. :)
Had two very fun fights vs TraumaTech. First fight was LB vs ??? (CC I think), second was LB vs CF. Both of us had 2 AI's each time (so much for AI stripping). Both times I unloaded on his AI early, had him chase me while I tried to reload, and killed him in the end. Despite the lack of AI stripping they were both good fights.
And then the coup de grace, my LB vs Soreyes' DF, when in my overconfidence not only did I fail to notice we has going slow enough to run a level 4, but panicked like a girl after getting grabbed and did everything I shouldn't have done.
Despite some setbacks :mischief:, it's been fun so far.

I get added to the list, along with Green. Duck in his KCR with a FLG ai took on Green in a Kzinty BF and me in an ISC CAW. I warned Green that Shadowlord loves to push people into rocks(ie DIZZY) but Green got tractored, and dragged into a ROCK quite early. That was funny. That AI was a thorn in my side the whole game, costing me shielding slowly, while using up any extra weapons I could afford, without draining my ship too much with that KCR on my butt, side, front, etc. Twice Duck took runs at me, I hurt him in the first run, he got me in a corner in the second and with AI help hitting all those mines he placed, I was getting the worst of it. VGG, was fun. been waiting for some PvP, even if it cost me a few thous.

Woot! Got my second kill tonight. First was against LordHelios a few days ago, then tonight I got the win against Dib. Nothing fancy, he was flying a D6DB and I a Gorn CC. He did manage to tractor me twice, but each time I saw it coming and already had my repel working. I managed to wear him down with superior Gorn Phasers and a few plasmas. Well fought Dib.

I well fought match. As usual the KHH flew in very tight formation and were very pesky. After Icehawk practiced his proxy photon skills on them for awhile, the KHH got a couple of good hits on Hawk's rearshield. They forced us to border a little later and suckered me into letting them HET pass me and grab Icehawk. (which he survived from, but not from their pouncing on him shortly after)
I was just in process of trying to tractor him off map when they did the coup de grace on him. Big meanies!! ;)

Tomcat'n and I kill ran Duck out in his KRC while his wing man was caught and killed in his D6D.
I also killed a Romulan KRC on a planet assault I drafted great AI one mirak ship even had a MIRV :-X

The USS Argent Dawn strikes again, like the Bismarck in WWII, she stirkes fast and hard.
Todays additions to the list were KBF-Soth and Lear. First, Soth's K-D6DB was captured, which was shortly followed by Lear's R-KRC being nuetralized.

Well, took Duck out of his KRC twice... sort of.... H-TEM vs R-KRC. I towed him off after some lag out thing where I couldn't damage him anymore.... not that he could do much at that point. ;)
Then the rematch with me in a H-LB ended with the destruction of Duck's KRC for sure this time.
GG's both times.

Killed Chuut's cheesy hex flipping DF+ with a LB. Then I SD'd my LGE on his nose when he tried to capture me with his DNL.

Myself in a ISC CC and Chuut in a Lyran BF jumped Methanerider in a LB. Nice of you to stick around long enough for us to catch and destroy you. gg

My VERY first mission against two of the best Coalition players with a mere destroyer (F-vDD? - the starting ship) resulted in me having an infinitely high damage given to damage received ratio!!! Couldn't finish them off though :(
A more precise way of putting this is that my two expert teammates engaged them while I stayed WAY back at max proxy range launching two at a time, eventually causing a total of 8 damage, receiving 0.
In fact that's a lie anyway because at the last second of me leaving the map they fired a range 30+ phaser volley and did fair damage to my rear shields ;)
Besides that pseudo-engagement I have yet to fight a human, probably to the health of my crew. Stand by for further battle reports.

It was a F-CS+
"forces" makes them sound dangerous, the real problem was my terrible mistakes - I had blasted a good chunk out of his #6 shield, and was preparing an HET-photon shot at it (he was chasing me at about range 6 since the edge of the map snuck up on me), EXCEPT WHEN I HET'd I DIDN'T TURN FAR ENOUGH AND NEVER GOT THE ANGLE TO SHOOT THE PHOTONS!!! So I took some phasers and plasma for NOTHING!!!
Thanks to Federation resilience, however, that in fact hardly damaged me outside of my confidence which was hovering around zero as it was my first engagement..
At least he was slow for a bit and I opened up the distance again to fully charge overloads at almost top speed the whole way thanks to charging normals, then converting to overloads one at a time, so he had minimal armaments vs my fully armed ship while attempting to chase. Except I'm out of safe HET's... so I tried a emer-decel upon consultation of my helpful teammates, who probably assumed I could HET or let him close a bit more FIRST... what happened is I took a full phaser volley (no plasma cause I weaselled) and he turned away behind me enough to stay out of arc of photons :(
Then I got to chase him with full overloads as he laid mines everywhere, eventually using T-bombs which left me some free hull shots.
I forget what happened after all this, but one thing I do remember, at no point, regardless of range, could I see his weapon status! They all showed empty so I was trailing him very close and we were both going slow, then I do a H&R at which point he magically has charged phasers and blasts me to all hell....self destruct initiated :(
Was a great battle and especially great fun. I can't help but find humor in the fact that my two crucial photon passes resulted in me NOT firing any photons! Damn Fed training grads get dumber every year...
EDIT: By the way, kidding about the "forces" comment, a20risky is a dangerous foe! :)

Adding to the list... Agave's H-DE took down Dizzy's L-BCPp while my F-CS+ took all the damage....
We evenly split the kill on a Kitty in a Z-CD.... sorry, can't remember his name...
And I played bully on Green's Z-DF+ in the same CS+.

I really dislike servers that penalize the casual players. J'inn, please make all ships cost 1 pp. I probably wont afford another BC.

Well, here's the deal. Say what you want, it's a Freedom of Speech thing, BUT don't break the forums rules. Seems simple enough, but hard to do. Some people are better than others at being rhetorically hyperbolic and a little hysterical without crossing the line.
If I was a forum admin. here, I'd probably give you warning rap about personal attacks.

Had some really great battles last night..2v2 Sorh and I were able to vanquish the Lyran force of Mutilator and Warp. Soth's mauler ship was killed, but I was able to exact revenge with my KE on both of the opponents.
Twenty minutes later I had a vicious 1v1 versus ShropShireSlasher. It was simply amazing to see EVERY SINGLE hit and run raid of his destroy their target. I want to know what Klingon Drill Sergeant has changed sides! He got me down to about 60% hull before I was able to repair/recharge my plasma R, pop a risky HET (under 80% chance) , and sock him for 50 points. He got close to the map but the KE's impressive power curve let me catch him to finish the job.
Great games all hope for more soon.

Aye that was a fun match.
Getting some great PVP on the server after Warp and I reinforced Lyran interest in the north high command called us to action on the Hydran Mirak front. Our first action had 762 in a dred attempt an unsuccessful space dock raid. His ship was over whelmed with drones from my DF and the space docks. I am sure Warp got a few good ESG hits in too with his BCPp. GG 762
I lost my dwlp to skyflyer this morning marines start coming across near the end so I ordered self-destruction to avoid capture. GG
I upgraded to a cwlp and met Gornaid in an HCC+ was a great match his ship fell after a hard fight. GG

Aside from my slew of lesser kills, today was a bad day for the Coalition and Alliance. I chased down Bear's DNL and wasted it, Rom Duck's CON suffered the most humiliating defeat a DN could EVER possibly suffer, so funny, here's the film (http://home.satx.rr.com/spiderwebs/Ducks_3way_kaboom.rec), you wont believe it... (revenge is so so sweet), and then 762's HR and Ice's CVA fall.

Sure duck, post the film, but hitting a rock was a 5 year milestone for me, its big time serious. I tried to quit, cuz I was serious. But the thrill and rush of this game... it's too hard to ditch without outside influence for me. Leaving for a whole week, while sounds quite pitiful for most, its most pitiful for me... Gosh I suk. Had a great 2v1 at 5am. Myself in an H-HR, Hunter-s in an NCL+, vs Chuut in a BCPp. For those who don't know Hunter-s is Ternado's son, and he woke his old man up at 5am for tactical advice. ;D
He flew extremely well for a n00b, a credit to his trainers. Chuut ended up leaving the map.

Fact is that while my wings were 30k behind me, I tractored and shot the hell out of your DN by myself and got you down to half hull and I lost maybe, what, a couple of hardpoints? After you finally broke the tractor and launched your fighters, you were threw. So what if my wings mopped up those fighters? The dynamic was this, if they wernt there I couldnt have done what I did not knowing I'd have had backup. So they were integral to insuring your demise. The only question is, where was your escort?
Fact, of the 4x DN kills last night 3 of them could have easily turned tail and disengaged. But they didnt. And of course, you mention I had wings to assist me, well of course I did and in no small part should they not take credit themselves. I am not their spokesperson, however. They may stake their own claim, and their contribution to these DN Kills are no less important than my own.
But who cares about the details. Fact is, I was involved in 4x DN kills last night. Beat that. :P

And with that being said I great games the other day in two seperate mission by my wings.
They covered up my mistakes and kept dizzy and his wing off my arse while I reloaded.
KBF_Standarte (D5D)and KBF_Kaz(D5L).. Not the easiest games to play when were not using the same voice comms. I couldnt keep up with my wingman while loading dizzies, and went in for an attack run on his escort. After my sweep I target back to the ISC and my sensors report 73 internals on him! Watch out for those maulers guys!
I have to give credit to the a.i. for this kill, to run in on 2 S-torps takes alot of courage.

That match was the kind of game you always want to have and seldom get. Win lose, doesnt matter. GG to u and mrogue. It was an hour of intense combat and strategic manuevering.
And gg to Frey who 3x alsmost steered me into a rock. Duck, beacuse Frey and I stuck together like a ho bitch and pimp in winter is the only reason u got away in the end... Frey didnt want to see me get in another unfortunate rock incedent so elected to stay with me and not chase you... He's such a sweetie~! :-*

Well the Coalition front is turning out to be a lot more entertaining than the Kitty front.
I had probably my best and most entertaining 1v1 since SS2 tonight, a classic mano-e-mano duel between light dreadnoughts. Duck and myself faced off with a Liege+ and a Shrike in a thoroughly entertaining high-speed slugfest. Duck was destroyed after bagging all of my nasty Stingers (which I'm sure earned him no small measure of satisfaction).

Not sure DH -- maybe its a mental issue -- see I just dont mind loosing a ship -- I know any of the players out there can beat me -- but I also know that I can beat them.. That means I just enjoy the combat, however I like the idea of DN's being worth maybe 2 vp and BCH worth 1 vp --Give me those criteria and damn if I wont be out hunting a DN in a LC -- and you can bet others would be as well.
It also makes the player flying a DN a little more cautious.. but a victory is all that much sweeter when you earn a point or two for your side..

I do see VC points for kills being useful for campaigns... I'm with Shadow on that, I would go hunt large prey just because... but a break once and a while is obviously good too :)
Looking forward to more... I'm open for challenge/dueling as well so long as it doesn't conflict with my orders at the time and my pp total holds up for replacements ;)

I will say the lesser "ban" penalty for dieing vs staying encourages sticking around. Don't think the 50% "cost" does, but after the first week...most player have enough PP to replace whatever they had. I'm sure my opinion would be different on the last point if I was flying an uber-dread and only had 60K in the bank.

Anyways I have had a few ships die to players as of late. All good games ya know the kind where you can win or loose based on one move or one mistake.
Well last night he watches a 3v2 games where we were forced to fly off the map vs DH and Frey (VGG guys) -- then he watched me play a 1v1 vs Paladin Fed CF vs My FFH_K. Game was very close and I thought I had Paladin with two fully loaded S torps (we were doing a Mexican standoff at about range 7 ) anyways he WW and my world goes to pot.
I die., game ends..
The punk ass kid looks up at me and says
"You sure die a lot as a Romulan"
Sigh -- he lived I didnt even smack him (considering he is only 2-3 inches shorter then me probably a smart move on my part) ..
Bastard Kid I am going to get him up and running for a server and put a bounty on his head!!

Well last night he watches a 3v2 games where we were forced to fly off the map vs DH and Frey (VGG guys) -- then he watched me play a 1v1 vs Paladin Fed CF vs My FFH_K. Game was very close and I thought I had Paladin with two fully loaded S torps (we were doing a Mexican standoff at about range 7 ) anyways he WW and my world goes to pot.
I die., game ends..
The punk ass kid looks up at me and says
"You sure die a lot as a Romulan"
Sigh -- he lived I didnt even smack him (considering he is only 2-3 inches shorter then me probably a smart move on my part) ..
Bastard Kid I am going to get him up and running for a server and put a bounty on his head!!

Classic. That story sounds so familiar. My nephew practices on his Playstation2 games so that he can trounce me when I visit. He always seems amazed when I can keep up or do better than him when he first gets these games. 20+ years of being a gamer certainly helps.

Frey in a I-CCY and Soreyes in a Z-DFR Drafted Rom Duck in a R-DN and Mrogue in a R-SUA? a Carrier.
Rom Duck dropped at the start which left Mrogue. Let The Hunt Begin.
Outstanding move by Mrogue to fly into the rocks and dust clouds. Frey stayed behind Mrogue hitting him with PPD shots while I tried to get ahead of Mrogue. At the end I finally got in front and put 6 type 4 drones on his nose, that slowed him down enough for Frey to finish him off with two S torps
A salute to Mrogue who put up a Heck of a fight :thumbsup:

very nice battle last night me(Tomcat'n) L-BCP and Chuut-Ritt DF vrs Rom Duck in a SUK. i think anyway, it was a hawk hull with fighters.CR and I came out on top but it wasnt easy. VGG sir :woot:

The second match, I thought I had you dead to rights when I tractored you and launched my ftrs and drones, but you slipped away from me, I believe without taking any damage. It's too bad we wernt able to finish that second game... It was shaping up to be a doozy.
I'd also like to tell you I also got the jibbers that game. When you were circling that rock, I had a trac up and actually had to cancel a HET twice because you kept faking the turn in. I managed to calm down after you moved away from it. GG's. Hope to play you more.

Appreciate the kind words, sir! Though I died twice, I enjoyed the PvP opportunity-- the chance to go mano a mano in this game seems to arise all to rarely for me. (and I could certainly use the practice.) Funny and ironic thing on that second game-- I was just setting my "repel" tractor when you grabbed me in preparation for making a pass at you--doing so distracted me somewhat and probably contributed to me being grabbed in the first place! So I was both lucky and unlucky at the same time! Anyway, I had meant to gracously thank you for the dueling opportunity but that chance was lost when I pulled my ethernet cable apart in my "post-hitting-the rock" tantrum. :banghead:
Didn't get back on until about 10:30 last night as a result. (I finally found an old cable in a box of cords in the attic crawlspace). ;D

VGG game last night--- Myself in a K-FDW and Throg in a half-drone-depleted DWD (I think) against Ternado in his Fed DN (an't remember the exact config.)
In an hour long battle, Ternado presses us mightily, but finally escapes heavily damaged across the border. VERY well fought battle. If I hadn't gotten lucky and slipped a multipack on him that popped right under his nose the battle might still be going on.

Lost a L-BCPp to Lord Saxon's DWD. Got moderately agressive when I should have gone full aggressive or fully cautious and Saxon flew like a champ doing many nasty hit and runs, and though overmatched in ships his superior flying proved more decisive.

Yeah, I remember that, I was surprised you stuck around at all with the lopsided odds, and yeah, you were right at the line when Duck tractored you and dragged you back into a hail of drones and weapons fire. <S>
I started off posting a couple kills, but, didn't see the point with no VCs for PvP on this server. Had almost a dozen yesterday alone, with 2 excellent 3v3, numerous 2v2, 2v3, 3v2, and even a couple 1v1.
I just had to bust a little on Dizzy, since he died first in one of the 3v3 last night... :P

dfly in a mirak cf(i think) and i in a bcp vs dib in a con and soth in a k-dwl had started out in a great match,both dfly and soth virtually destroyed with dfly getting in the last punch destroying soth,leaving dfly very banged up,and myself in the bcp (fully intacted)and dib in a con with around 70 internals....might have been interesting to see what would have happenned,but at this time i crashed,leaving dfly to the "tender mercies" of dib.great game to that point,oh well,it was a lot of fun to that point gh gl to all

Myself in a CCY vs Methanerider in a CHC vgg. Methanerider was gassed and put back to base in a war destroyer. He will get the last laugh though as my CCY fell right after to the base he was protecting. Was swamped by fighters.

I edited my post at the top at 5am this morning after I lost our 2nd match. I do post losses, only the big uns. If we all listed all our kills, this thread would be 14 pages long... at least.

Indeed it was a fierce, duo tractored slugfest. Luckily I remembered to switch back to my Hit and Run raids, when my last 5 marines were about to beam over. You coulda captured me w/ 1 transporter.... Hope to see you again on the field of battle.

I'll share a good battle tale... it wasn't a kill, but a damn good fight!
Got the draft expecting a team-mate, but got Soth instead. He was flying a D5D, I had a Gorn CLF. We both approached each other with caution, and started the long dance. For quite a while, it went as expected, this was my first PVP with a CLF on this server, it's been quite a while since I'd flown this ship, and had forgotten its capabilities. That, and add the fact I'm a more seasoned player since then too ;)
Anyhow, I managed to keep up a very respectable speed and still be able to charge heavies. I figured a F plasma is just about as good as a S in this situation, and turned off my F launchers and loaded F's in my S launchers (that way I get a quicker load time at less power to boot). We went punch for punch for about 20 minutes- I'd get the odd hit in, he kept pasting me with phasers. There were a couple close calls, once in the corner which could have came close to being bad for my sake, and once along the border which helped me get a good shot in. Eventually, he took out one of my S's, and I knew it was crunch time, or I was gonna be a pair of boots before long. By then I was out of spare parts. I got an F back online, waited for it to charge, then loaded up an S torp. BTW, I should point out every now n then I'd launch a pseudo either to keep him at bay, or just to keep him guessing. Just as I finished loading, he got to feeling cocky and got in the Zone. I let loose the S for a smack in the nose, and followed close with the F. That pretty well knocked the fight out of him, and he made for friendly space.
In summary, I just wanna say (once again) damn good game! You certainly made for a very tough match! <S>

Well this weekend past there were so many fantastic games I dont know where to start --
Hmm first off -- Yea I to dont post all my kill or deaths but some of the major ones I do -- and I do usually respond to someone else's post about a game I was in.
Great jobs with every single wing I had -- or with lead ships that I happened to wing for this weekend.
Two significant very close match ups that were 1v1 games..
Game 1 --
Diz in a lyran BCP? vs Duck SUK_
Game started off great both pilots trying to use the Ion Storm for tactical advantage.. I had the early lead but Diz wore me down.. He pulled very sweet move with a Stop and WW that voided two close range S torps..after that I got hit with the ESG as I was doing a flyby -- end result I kepy flying by and left the map to avoid death..Great game diz --
BTW for the record here game was a little fubar at the begining see I didnt get any AI helpers and Diz got two - -- he sat at speed zero and told me to kill off the AI before we started our pvp match -- hats off to diz for his IN GAME SPORTSMANSHIP
Game 2
As above a great match up same ships Lyran BCP vs Duck in SUK -- lyran pilot was Chutt.. you had to be part of this game to belive the damage -- in my match vs diz we did some long range sniping in this game we closed range and went to town on each other..now as expected and as ducked learned its not a great idea to get in a knife fight with range 0 esg ..however my god i dumped out the fighters and they ALMOST made the difference ..both sides suffered massive internal damage and kept pouding away..Chutt won the match and my SUK went down in flames (I belive it was my only death the whole weekend) -- However as I recall chutt send me a message that his ship had 401? repairs or some such crap -- was a down and dirty match.

Chuut was telling me about that one, Duck. He said he won by 2 phasers and 7 power or something like the skin of his teeth... haha. That'd be a film worth watching.
On our match, we did a fair amount of sniping, but dont forget midway thru the match, we both closed nose to nose and slugged it out before I was forced to swing out to repair. I couldn't hang there and finish that knife fight, I felt I was losing it. I think I was the worst off after that exciting exchange. What kept me in the game, I think was the fact my ship had 5 more spares than yours. Oh, and ya, that was a risky ES move at the end, but it worked! That's straight out of my old book,"Dizzy's Stupid Tricks". gg.
Duckling Jr. needs to do some PvP now, he has amassed a small fortune... I'll show him how not to get killed like 'dad'. ;)

I was the ISC pilot, he flew pretty good, but let me get in too close after he though was out of guns.

It was 4 Phasers and 7 power dizzy as I kept repairing my ph 1s. Anyhow I was lucky in the end as Duck was trying to get away at speed 2 to let his fighters finish me, had he stayed at range zero the explosion of his ship would likely have taken me out as well. That was likely the most down and dirty match I have ever been a part of. Some might call it knife fighting, I think that doesn't do it justice, was definately clawing and biting fighting with a couple of eye gouges thrown in.

Duck, Duckling Jr would make you proud... sort of. :P In a close nailbiter of a mission, he stuck to Dib like glue and was a great wingman never splitting off and making sure Dib's CNV+ was kept from getting overrun by Soreyes' DWD and my LDNM.
But right as Dib was attempting to disengage because of light damage and very weak shields, I made my move with Soreyes coming close in behind for the kill. I had my tractor set and marines ready to prevent the fighters from deploying. But I couldn't get close enough in time. 16 fighters launched right as I cut off Dib and tractored him from running over the Red line. While I alphaed Dib with ESG's and all my phasers and dizzies, Soreyes saw the Ftrs launch and went for them instead of duck trying to lkill them off before they shot their plasma.
But he was too late. Three squads hit me, some with Plasma and one hit Soreyes with plasma. I survived the barrage, but poor Soreyes was blown into space dust. I managed to get a few Tbombs off at Dib and his entire ship was blacked out. All he had was his right warp engine. He swung around, I'm sure to disengage as his hull was 10%, and I'm sure since his ftrs were empty he thought maybe I had enough to finish him. But fearing the Ph3's from what was left of his ftr squadrons and the fact I had no Starboard weapons and his ftrs were headed in that direction, I frantically repaired my engines to give me just enough to coast over the line. I think I beat Dib to it, hehe.

Few things first off GG last night DFly -- sorry we could not have kept up our usual cat and mouse battle as I think my power curve was winning that one for me but -- it would have taken about 3 hrs to finish to the mission at least..interesting battle as it was -- I turned off all phasers and went into run down mode on Dfly in a CAT? while he used only the 3 S torps to keep me at bay.
Also good game to (Damn i forget) Mutt? and Riskey? or was that you Dfly? pulled a nice het with a hoild up.. forget which combo but as I was running the two of them down they nailed me at the border.. good job
In the end I had used my parts and left the map..both of us were enjoying the game.
Second thanks for the kind words to several of you on Duck Jr.. he is only 13 and well to be honest has never played the game before. He was watching me on this server and has gotten into it..I hope to have some time to train him before the next server. So far any time he played I have been at work or gone to bed so its nice to hear from several of you that while he may be a new player he is doing Ok -- it did my heart good to hear he stuck on his wing...All that being said feel free to give him adivce on any game.
I guess he I need a second copy of OP or at least another CD key so Matt can play online at the same time..he has a computer of his own that will run the game and I already have two systems on the router..a 3rd shouldnt be that big a deal. So by next server you may see us flyind side by side..

That first one you mention about last night, we flew for 1hour 28 mins when it ended. That 2 extra power your ship had was making a difference and I could not match your speed and recharge fast enough so I was taking the odd internals to your not taking any. If you noticed I had dropped my overall speed to around 24 after about 1 hour. I had not lost any power but this was my only way to counteract your ship advantage. Dangerous, ya, but you were using your ship as a phaser boat, so I felt I could work it. That ship you had is about 40 more bpv than mine and it showed. The CAT is 155.
Hey Duck, that one you forgot, that was Me and Mutt, with me in the CAT and Mutt in a Heavy Battlecruiser Lyran. You had the SUK and an AI that had double plasmas and used them well vs Mutt at the beginning. I faked him and slowed him from following for the first bit while Mutt crippled him. After some phasering back and forth you followed us to the border when I did the HET and grabbed you. You saw it coming at the last second and launched your fighters. 3 of them targetted me while the other 2 hit Mutt. Just before they hit me, I did a full strike on you crippling you. You shot me with everything, tractor still held even after the fighters hit me. we had each taken about 100 internals by then. As the tractor dropped Mutt came into range and overan you, taking you out. We returned to finish off the AI after.
Was a great fight especially when Mutt took all that damage in the first pass from that AI. This gave you reason to fight it out as your ship was more than a match for mine and your AI was still alive, though hurt.

Well its not a kill, but I got my capture merit badge to shin32. He gave me an awesome fight and would have pushed my I-CSF off the map in his K-D5DR but spent too many marines on hit and runs and didnt notice my capture team beam over as I began running toward the border. It took every trick in my book to pull it off, good flying and good hunting to ya!

The Kitty High Command is Stunned..... Soreyes Got Another PvP kill. With the Help of the smartest AI help I have ever seen.
Drafted Raus who was in a R-NHK, and a R-SUE that was his AI help. I was in my Z-DWD with a L-MP as AI help.
First things first. Took out the R-SUE and started after Raus. After a few phaser shots and a few Plasma and Drone exchanges . Raus caught me with a enveloping R or S torp that took my Shields down to almost nothing. In the mean time the L-mp was sniping away at Raus which gave me a chance to recover a little bit. After a few more minutes of stalking each other, I finally got behind Raus and started to chase him down with a LV-2 Tractor set up. When I got to with in range 7 or 8 Raus did something that I was not expecting. He did a 180 het right into me :o At range .85 I let loose with six type 4 drones that all hit. I moved off and the L-MP came up and started to put some Phaser Fire through Raus's down Shield. Raus then Cloaked and went to speed 1.5. I flashed cubed him and hooked a tractor on but was way to close to launch drones. I let him loose and attempted to flash cube him two more times, but could not get the mines to go off when I ran over them. :banghead: I moved off to try again when out of nowhere the L-MP came up and smacked Raus with two ESG's and a alpha strike with it's phasers. With that Raus came out of his cloak, and I came in with a over run and put 6 more type 4 drones into him. Raus went boom and almost took me out by giving me 54 internals when he blew up. A Very Good game there Raus. I'm sure you will blow up my ship a few times before the end. ;D

A very fun battle that took place Wednesday night was Duck in CNH and LK in SUK vs Dfly in CCY, Risky in CMV and Dizzy in CCF. Risky got too risky and blew up from heavy firing of the Dread without even a single shot out of his fighters. Later Duck and LK were hurting, and LK, while protecting the Dread passage off map unfortunately got a little too shot up to get off the map without getting tractored back across the red line and blown up. Was a great fun game.

Woo Hoo well we did it. We got Dizzy in his damn Lyran Dn tonight!!!!!! It was a blast fighting him and Chuut trying to run the dv down on the rom planet. And I had a big friend along in his Rom Dn (Lord Halios) to help lure Dizzy into thinking he had the upper hand in the battle. After Dizzy and his friends ran me off all week long trying to retake the planet.....I died lots of times...it made my day to see Dizzy go boom ...lol. Since I won't be able to get on the server before it ends today I would like to thank everyone who played. I have had one hell of a good time flying and fighting with all who played. The fighting around the rom planet has been a blast all week long. You kitties should never give Chuut any catnip....I don't think he sleeped at all most of this server because everytime I logged in he was always on. Again thank you guys for putting up one hell of a fun server with lots of battles for all. The P v P has been very heavy on this server...at least for me it has been :). Great job to those who ran it and kudos to all the admins on all sides.

Poor kid spent 3x nights in a FF to work his way up to a DN that I was supposed to take away from him.. DAMN U!
Actually I allowed his ship to leave, as he was speed 14, 1 phaser1, 1 plasmas, both uncharged, and no repairs left. But I am glad to have taken away your hopes of destroying him eheh.

In one monumental battle, Duck in rom CLX along with Krueg in KLink DX drafted myself in ISC CCX and Dizzy in Mirak HDW. After more than 1 hour, Duck was tractored at the border and killed, while he had dropped his Neuc and I ran it over, thus killing Dizzy in the process. I was hurting and so was Krueg, but Krueg felt it prudent to run off the map.
Excellent game all round, well worth it. And I get to claim a kill on Dizzy eheh.

Dont forget the Planet, bases fleetrepair docks and defense platforms :P
Anyhow you guys flew great, esp Lord Helios suckering Dizzy in, was a ballsy move and if it hadn't worked Helios would likely have died. Risky moves like that arew the sign of a great captain.....if they work.

The $20 for leaving Dizzy to the wolves is in the mail!

It took me a minute to finish charging my torps and turn to face him, and luckily Reejr closed in to take his shots while Chuut kept his distance. Dizzy was dead already as soon as you grabbed him and I saw he had a lvl 0 ESG, no way to save him as ftrs were still repairing, felt no need to join him.

Many kills... too many deaths should have bought stock in the "DF" hull ;D. By far this was the best PVP server FSD has been on since we started playing on the Dyna.
Excellent job by all the admins and RMs :notworthy: to keep it going and above all keep it fun. Looking forward to what ever comes next. Think the points for capital ships is a great way to go to help maintain balanced play.
And as I log off for the final time I can confidently state that no enemy ever stepped foot on an original Lyran, Mirak or ISC planet :woot:
Thanks to all the players I encountered in all the fun an honourable PVP games I was in as Mutilator and as the Gingerbreadman.

Thanks Krueg for that last minute fight and taking the server out with a bang! Me getting cocky in my bigger ship and chasing gave you the upper hand. If I hadn't launched the PF's to buy me some time...
I was flying the PF's half the time making sure they didn't get popped by your drones - luring the drones toward the main ship. Very tricky though... I was IN the one you tractored there toward the last which is why the mother ship didn't react faster. Very well fought my friend!

I also had a last minute fight on the server. Approximately 5 minutes from the end of the server, I logged back on findng I had left my ship on the southwestern planet of the center planets. It appeared that the Alliance had just flipped the hex to the southwest of that planet neutral. After checking on my supplies, I hit that hex and was unpleasantly surprised to draft Komodo because I was in a Z-HDWVm and he was in a G-CCX.
I say unpleasantly surprised, which loosely translates into "Oh sh*t!" However, I decided to make a go of it and was rather surprised to see that he didn't know how to handle incomming drones. About 3:45 into the match, he started taking internals. He launched plasma at me twice during the course of the match, but never touched me. At 5:59 into the match, his CCX was molten debris and the match ended moments later.
Good game, Komodo. I was not expecting to be able to beat you with you in that X ship, much less blow you away. After the match I looked at the stats for the G-CCX in this shiplist, though. I realized overall, it was ill suited to drone defense. 2 Plasma R, 2 Plasma S, 12 phaser 1s, and apparently only 2 tractors. With my cluster missiles to help absorb your point defense, well, I'm not sure even an experienced player experienced in plasma vs drones could have beaten me, even if I did almost let you sneak up on me by flying only at speed 20 at first. Thanks for my second PvP kill ever.

Actually, I'm pretty good at drone defence for the most part, but I'd become accustomed to not dealing with 'em very much for the most part on server. I usually run my phaser cap at 1/2 power, and I think that contributed greatly to my misfortune- by the time I thought to up it, it was too late to do any good. Either way, I don't think it would have made much difference on my part- with you running top speed, and my having to save phasers for point defence, you'd have the upper hand long enough to slowly peck me to bits before your drones ran out. How many drones does that beasty carry? I assume they were heavies...
Really, my only chance was to catch you before you got up to full speed. It was close, lemme tell you! I had a tractor all set n ready to hook you in, & the closest I got was range 5, & by then you were taking the lead at speed 28. I let an R loose & was probably the only hit I got on you LOL. I think the only reason I didn't charge in was because I was trying to determine the extent of your drone barrage as I closed in. It's been quite a while since I last encountered MIRV's & I was trying to figure out how to ignore them & concentrate on the singles you kept lobbing at me. As you mentioned, having only 2 tractors didn't help matters- I was really starting to miss my Hydran boat right about then LOL

You assume correctly. Type 1s wouldn't have done nearly as much damage that quickly. The Z-HDWVm has 1 A rack, 2 B racks, 2 C racks, and one M rack. Total capacity of 70 Type 4 drones, 10 of which are cluster missiles, IIRC. I'm sure someone will correct me if I've made a mistake in that calculation, though.
