Title: Playstation 3 Question

Does anyone know when the Playstation 3 is coming out?
My PS2 died and I'm debating on whether or not to get a
replacement PS2 or just wait until the PS3 comes out.

I believe the PS3 is coming out in 2006.  Of the next generation consoles only the XBox 360 is scheduled to be available by Christmas.

I also heard a rumor that Microsoft intends to release Halo 3 the same day the PS3 is released!  ::) ;D

Thats MS's rumored plan. I doubt it'll happen, but its a possibility.


My advice is to try and find a cheap used PS2 on ebay or something. That's how I'd do it. I use my PS2 all the time, and it'd be that, or I'd be waiting for a PS3.

Thanks guys. I think I'll look into getting a used one to hold
me over until the PS3 comes out.

What's your PS2 doing Ron? I've had a little Good luck with repairing them in the past, maybe I can give you some advice on how to repair It.

I can't believe it but I got the sucker working again. Whenever I put a disc in, the drive would make this funky
thrashing sound and the game wouldn't load. Well, I took a can of compressed air, shot a couple of blasts into
the drive and now it seems to be working.   ;D

Popped in Final Fantasy X and everything is groovy. It's amazing
what a little air can do.   ;D

 If it screws up on you again you can buy rebuilt ones pretty cheaply at game spot.

My PS2 is on its way out also, cant wait to get my hands on the PS3. Especially looking forward to the next Grand Theft Auto title for the PS3. ;D

Ace Combat 6 (ONLINE FOR THE LOVE OF...) That's what I want. and Gran Turismo 5, and maybe a new Resident Evil, in a triumphant return to the Playstation platform.


Anywho, a lot of the "older" PS2's (meaning the first/second production runs) tend to collect dust like a mother. I shoulda thought of that  :P
