Hi.. I know this only applies to the few instead of the many, but...
I'm trying to fly a few hours every day or two, consistent flight time but not so much that I play only a week then spend the rest of the campaign burned out. I run into live players occasionally, which is great...
... except for some, for whatever reasons (state of mind, morale, frustration, etc) who don't even bother to fly themselves across the border to disengage. My computer isn't a powerhouse and often needs complete reboots after mission bugs or drops, if it doesn't lock up immediately.
If I'm going to spend a quarter of my time rebooting because pilots won't stay the mission, I would rather uninstall this game completely and reinstall something else that I can have fun playing... I mean this in the nicest way I can think of to say, but that's the reality of it. I try to be as honorable as my mission profiles and orders allow, and I'm sorry if I have caused anyone grief, but I'm here to have fun just like the rest of you.
I stuck it out when the Alliance was getting completely stomped by the neat-o Coalition monster ships a few campaigns back until the end (pretty much 100% loss rate when disengaging wasn't possible), so frustration isn't a good enough excuse for me any more. I won't name names; I'll only mention publicly this once before going to RMs or just being one less person for you to play with, and being one less person is much less work for me.
Decide now if you would rather only ever face AI in missions, stay away from the contested areas if you aren't interested in PvP or something please. I"ve lost a few times this campaign to lag or stupidity on my part; you'll notice if you check my prestige total that I've also taken pp hits from losing to AI, and not alting. If I can do that, I don't think I'm asking too much to at least fly off the map or be a gracious opponent and lose if indeed that's what happens. I'm no one to instantly run from in a PvP match or even mid mission, come on...

Since I believe alting out is against the rules (I'm to lazy to look)
let the RM's know who's doing it.
(Unless it's ever me, then it's an honest technical issue)

Nah, I'd rather leave it be really unless it continues... I can speak from past experience that the RMs are probably already dealing with full plates :)
It really might just be a few cases of frustration getting the better of people, which is understandable but not always really okay, that's all.

I thinking that all instances might not be alting out either. Sometimes missions split or an isp burps they might lag out also. Who knows. I do feal your pain tho. until i built this unit a couple of years ago that same thing happened to me alot.
I hope this helps even a little.

:) It does Kurok, and yes, I know it's not all cut and dried. There's probably a pretty reasonable explanation (almost always is), I just wish I was in on it. It's not a huge deal, though.

thats cool bro. I just didnt want you thinking it was always someone alting out. I know it is frustrating as heck.
Hopefully things will get better soon with some of the stuff rumored to be in the works.

Dont forget...directX compatibility issues can mimic drops and drafting issues...we found this a while ago...
Everyone should be on 9.0c....

Snitch them out, bro. I hate players that alt out, and they need to be identified (in private at first) and the RM's need to make sure they know how the cows eat the cabbage.

Then when I up graded to a CD you came along in your F-CF and I could not even touch you. I just got pissed and said screw it and Alt-F4 out. I just had my emotions take control and you were the victim of it. I promise the rest of the Alliance and Coalition that I will not Alt out of any mission. I'll just SD my ship if the match up is to insane ;D

Never be afraid to PM me and let me know about such things.
But, be sure of what you say, have some screenshots, films or whatever in case it's needed...
I don't tolerate such thing with my pilots, or anyone else's for that matter. :P

That took a lot of guts, I really respect that ... how about we just forget about it?
I've gotten emotional too, don't worry about it :) If you'd explained it a bit I wouldn't have batted an eye.
