As is my wont on this Server. I am having a blast(in more ways then one) flying around in my little ol DWD. Helping out where needed. Cleaning up some of the messes that the Rom's, Klingon's, Fed's, Gorns, and Hydrans make all over our map ;D
But for the last few day's it has been a Hoot. I don't want to hear any one complaining about a lack of PvP. It seems about every other mission I'm stumbling into one :o DWD Vs DNs, BCH's, and CV's. Well if thats going to be the case. From now on all I can Say is CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!! ;D :rwoot:

I agree, lots of really good PvP fights for sure!

It's too bad I can only connect with about 4 people so far; otherwise, I'd beat y'all...well, mb not. :P

Running a software firewall? Running Directx 9.0c? Install the "stability updater (http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163355977.new.html#new)"? Got an MTU set on your router?

Running a software firewall?
Nope. Shut that off right away.
Running Directx 9.0c?
Yep. You need it for SWG.
Install the "stability updater (http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163355977.new.html#new)"?
DH gave me something about SFC3 dlls for OP.
Got an MTU set on your router?
It's set at 1492. When I ping other sites there's no packet loss.

Ditch it - reset it to the default. (the MTU setting on mine is disabled)
Also ensure you have the latest firmware for your router.

I did that. Still dropping on Dib. Can still connect with my regulars like TraumaTech.
What do I do with these settings, ya think?
I bolded my current settings:
Block WAN Request: Enable Disable
Multicast Pass Through: Enable Disable
IPSec Pass Through: Enable Disable
PPTP Pass Through: Enable Disable
Remote Management: Enable Disable Port: 8080
Remote Upgrade: Enable Disable
MTU: Enable Disable Size: 1492
Filter Internet NAT Redirection: Enable Disable
Filter IDENT(port 113): Enable Disable (Only configurable if "Block WAN Request" is enabled).

Now if that ain't irony . . . ;D
Especially since Dib has one of the most stable Dial-up connctions I've seen in D2.
-
Pretty sure Dib's NOT on dial-up... ;)

That explains it . . .

Only difference in my settings, which were stable on cable, is that I had PPTP Pass Through disabled, can't see how that would apply though. ???
Is Dib running a software firewall?

Dunno.
I wonder what is similar about the connections of these 4 players compared to others like Chuut, Dizzy, Soreyes, Dib, etc.
- FPF-Jem
- FPF-DieHard
- Freedom
- TraumaTech

I think that's the first time I've actual read TT admitting his dial-up is the cause of a crash...in a roundabout way

i have never denied that i probably caused crashes or lag J.......however,it seems to me,some peeps have to quickly stated lag issues, after having been critically injured.
let's talk about ducks connection re:drops only.duck and i flew with and against each other many, many times, but now he drops after about 15 seconds.why is this?? my system is the same.so what's diferent with ducks.am i at fault for this,if he has a new isp, comp that causes his comp to dislike mine?? i generally fly very very well in a 2v2(connection-wise only, not skill wise).on gsa i have flown many 3v3's with little or no lag,but i have also had lag fest.
i have done everything i possibly can to stablize my connection, from turning sh*t off in the background,to pesty's stabilization prog,to pesty helping me with tweaking my comp.i live in the boonies, and as nice an area that it is,it is not serviced via cable or dsl,and i will not pay 75 $ a month for a satelite link, plus another dial up account,to upload shiat if i need to.soooooooooo wait until i move, sometime within the next year.
the way some of you peeps go on,i am the only dial upper around, and more than that,of all the dial uppers....i am the only one that causes lag,as i have yet to see anyone biatch about any other dial upper.if i am that much of a bother, then i'll ........................
if ya still want me around, then deal with it and shut up.it's not always a bed of roses on my side as i was reminded by 762 earlier on in this server, when he was doing speed 25 and gaining on me as i was doing speed 31.and then he told me ,if i can't deal with it,then stay off the front lines. anyways, that's my vent
P.S. hex flipping only is not an option

No one can be worse than Shin. His 56k modem connects more like a 1200 baud one. Poor shin.

Ohh Soreyes, I wanted you BADddddd buddy. It was a blast you showing me that boater of yours. My D7W and my limited experience were no match for you. Good job and thanks for the lesson as the last 3 days I became unbeatable in my F5DB. I was hoping for a rematch but I took a header into an asteroid 10 minutes before the war ended. Maybe next time.

AS I posted elsewhere, yes, I had a blast on this server.
KATCR--I really think I could have taken you in our PVP match last night--I was flying one of my favorite ships. As you may have guessed, I lost connectivity in match and never regained it last night. Was shaping up to be a good game. Maybe next time.

I was in one of my favorites as well, so it would likely have been a good one. It wasn't able to prove victorious over Kaz's DXD X-ship, but my HDWC1m did score two more kills after we you lost connection making it a total of 5 in the final 2 hours ;)
