;D The T'chann armor topic got to thinking about the D-10. As far as weaker firepower why not give it heavy torpedoes?
In FASA Trek lore, the D-10 is slightly older than the TOS Connie and is first seen in heavy use during FASA's 4 years war. In my corner of the Trek Universe though, I was thinking the D-10 was the Klingon Empire's answer to the Excelsior not the L-24 KBB series. In my mind, the D-10 was designed with ship-to-ship boarding actions, base and planetary assualts/occupations in mind. Knock down an enemy shield and beam in the Imperial Marines to take over. The Federation has the Chandley [Heavy Cruiser] class to do the same tactic.
I prefer to think of Atrahasis' D-10B as the late TMP version and I have been using it, unimaginatively, as MY stock KCA as I have this aversion to most cough *canon* Trek ships as I like an ecclectic selection of TMP SFB-style ships, SOTSF, FASA Trek, etc. I like the Klingon Academy mentality about Klingon photon armed and cloaked ships as well...
Having said that, I was hoping somebody would be granted Atrahasis' blessing to retexture the D-10B into this:
I envision this as a strike carrier version of the D-10B, note the ovals on the port/starboard rear which could be receding hangar bay doors. I'm guessing that a launch rate of 2 fighters a turn with a number of fighters between 4-12?
I also was thinking that the Klingons must have hospital ships too and this would make a good platform for a hospital as well as not all Klingons will make it to Sto-va-kor after every battle...
I would be interested in specs for a commando, drone, hospital, Strike CV, and BCH version (with cloak) as my specs are not as well balanced as other folks.
The strike CV retexture is like the Gorkon KCV in that it is beyond my ability to do in a worthy manner at this time.

The Riskadh-class Heavy Battlecruiser is named for the house of Kahless the Unforgettable, and it is an ample name for such a majestic and deadly warship.
Sharing many of the typical Klingon design elements found in the D7 lineage, the Riskadh was design in such a way to maximize internal volume so that more weapons and associated equipment could be loaded into the hull.
The net effect was a seriously over-gunned battlecruiser that was more than a match for almost any other ship in the fleet, including the C8 Dreadnought that followed only a few years on the heels of the Riskadh.
Despite the improved weaponry and shielding systems, though, the Riskadh had its failings.
The Riskadh was tragically slow, with less linear thrust abilities than the larger C8 Dreadnought.
The ship could only maneuver marginally better than that ship, either.
These two factors made the the Riskadh cumbersome, and unable to stay in formation with faster and more maneuverable D7 Battlecruiser contingents.
It also did not help that the Riskadh Heavy Battlecruiser was unable to take much damage after its shields had failed, being little more survivable than the D7 Battlecruiser in this area.

The stats contained in this D/L create a very different ship than the FASA one plus this has a nice SFB flair and with 15 models to choose from you may find one you like.
Along other lines you could augment your fleet with the L-13 "Fat Boy" , L-20 Fast Battleship, L24 and KDF-2 as well as the D12, D20, D32. I surfed around based on what you described and came up with several options you might want to look at .......

This was a D-10 carrier my friend CommanderJones worked up for StressPuppy's Homeworld mod (using, IIRC, Stress's D-7 nacelles and a modified version of the boom and pod from his C-7 dreadnought). Another thing that should, hopefully, be done for SFC someday... just don't hold your breath... ;)

Nice, that ship definately needs to be made ;). Also KF if you want to view other unique SFB style stats check the SSD folder at Battleclinic I'm sure you'll find something that suits your need.

Well, if someone added just a little bit of a square mesh with an opening like in the pic above to the aft hull left and right of the Impulse engines on the flat back side, that'd be a great spot for the carrier door.

Thanks for posting the links for the fine old Klingon ships. P81s D-10 was very cool when it first came out.. I already have the other above models but its nice to see Klingon ship pictures these days. As far as specs, Atrahasis seems to be working on revised SSDs for the Connies and the D6/7s so I'm going to wait to see how that turns out. Maybe a D10 and revised Suvwl'Qeh SSDs will be done too. ;)

If Azel's TNG D10 is made, [AND, ideally, the gray Romulan Kerchan version2] I may need to consider going back to playing in TNG/post TNG universe...
