Title: Windowed Mode and 2 Displays . . . .
Post by: FPF-DieHard on August 28, 2005, 02:35:41 pm
Anyone know of anywat to get SFC:OP to play on the second Display of a 2 monitor setup whil in Windowed mode?

A few weeks ago I broke my 5 year old 19" CRT while moving and replaced it with two 17" ACER AL1714 LCD displays.  Trying to figure out how to get SFC to run in the secondary display, is this possible?

If you have the proper video card that allows that type of play, sure it must be.  I have a comp with a video card in my second computer that would allow it, but have not tried it.

Are you using some sort of desktop extender to use both monitors at once?  Even if you are doing so, I think running OP in windowed mode will place it top left of the desktop and it can't be moved from there.  I could be wrong, but I have it running windowed on a laptop and there is no way to move the window that I know of.

I think you are right, can't move it off of the main display.

Reason for doing this is the TV tuner on the ATI X800 can only run on the Main Display also.   Want to be able to watch on one Display and Play OP in the other  ;D

Only way I can think of doing this is by using http://www.stardock.com/products/multiplicity/ and physically running a Second PC on Display #2.

If your dual monitor support is coming from Windows itself, set the "secondary" monitor as your primary windows display.

On my 2k box, I've had my GeForce 400 MX card (which is my "second" setup) as my primary monitor (start bar, etc.) because I can't shut off the Built-in Intel and I don't have a monitor hooked up to it at all...

DH, I strongly suggest a share ware Program called UltraMon. It's worth the few bucks to use this permanitly. It's probably the most advanced Dual monitor + Program I've ever seen. I use It myself, and there have been plenty of times I'll be playing TWOK dvd on one monitor and the SFC games on another. + you can set It to determine which is your Primary , secondary, Triary, etc. ad. Nauseum.
