We start Saturday around noon, but dont stop reading this post.
Bonk and I plan on having an installer ready tonight with the same beta map so the final map results wont be revealed. It is imperative we get at LEAST 20 peeps on to do a load test and see if it all works good. If we dont get 20 people on at the same time tonight we will do a load test Saturday at noon and push the start date back to Saturday night and then Sunday noon and then back to next week. And back and back and back.
So when we start is up to u guys, basically. I'll be there tonight to test myself. And dont say why you cant show, just show or dont.

Right as soon as the installer is done, I estimate that will be 7-9pm central. So as soon as that is up, so should the server.

At least it wasn't between sometime 10 AM and 5 PM. ::)

Unfortunately, we didnt get 20 peeps on. Only 16. So tomorrow around noon, we will launch another test. And if we get 20+ players and run some missions for a bit like that, we can determine the player limit and go live not too long afterwards.
So please show up tomorrow at noon central, that's when the final installer will be ready. After that, the go live is in your hands.

Dumb question. What if load test fails? As in, server says ARGH!!! Run it anyway? Flatfile?

Not a dumb Q. We will determine the player load with 20 players and then start having players forfeit missions which cause serious errors and CPU load. Judging by the CPU spike, we will get an idea of how many more players than 20 that the kit can handle. We may see a 20 player limit... or a 35+ player limit. Who knows.
