Tacoma- more interior room
Ranger- better gas milage

Tacoma- more expensive parts
Ranger- ...Well, I drove mine for 10 years and 195,000 miles before needing to put so much as a clutch in it.

The Ranger is my recomendation... unless you are in the 6'3", 200+ pound range.

Tacoma or Ranger, K? You need a frigging TUNDRA!  ;D Man, what is it with you guys? I met Sethan, he's a big boy. I met Jerry Stormbringer, and he is a big boy. Stephen is a big boy. The Judge I saw in a pic, he is no chump or lightweight. Now you have given us your stats K?  ;) I feel like the little guy here, with my 5'11", 155 lb slender self!  ;D

No Ranger has a GREAT ride- they just have about 90% of the room in a Tacoma. Of course, an extra-cab can solve that.

Here's how we really determine it, Mackie. ;)

Full-size pickup:

anything in which you and your lady can 'party' in the bed while stretched out to full length without letting down the tailgate and still have room to roll around a bit.

mid-sized pickup:

Similar to full size, but you can't stretch out without letting down the 'gate and you can't roll more than once in either direction.

compact pick-up

A couple of midgets could make out in the bed, but only if they are spooning and stay perfectly still.

A Carpice is a landship... but a Montie Carlo or a Taurus is a normal-sized car.

Hades Mack! Hou are one tall person! Then again, most Scandinavians are, I met a guy from Norway who is a pilot and was staying at the Palacio in Mexico. That was one tall dude and he told me that he was average height for his people!  :o

Us Yanks need to give more VISAS to the Europeans again so we can intermix and keep up. Those Oriental and Hispanic women are not tall by any means.  ;)

I owned a '94 extended cab ranger for 10 years.

Great truck.

I rode with my pals who had the same year, but standard size cab, and they didnt like it.

During the 10 years, the thermostat went out once, had problems (twice) with the cruise control mechanism.  I understand that Ford is recalling and fixing trucks with cruise control problems.  Finally, the a/c had problems, but since it was the old type of a/c, I sold the truck rather than replace the a/c system.  Had it been R134, I would have kept it and drove another 10 years.

I have a Sport Trac now.  It's OK, but I miss my Ranger.

Hey one more thing.  You might get a better deal from Ford, than from Toyota.

Well between those two . . . the Ford . . .   Cheaper repairs.

I'd get the Dodge however.   I like the way it looks better.

Anywho I think you guys should keep in mind that the price of oil is just going to be going up, there aint much of it left. let it be 20 years or 100 years. Its still a very short period of time... ;p

I cant drive my Charger daily anymore, too costly. Bought a Honda Accord hatchback. much more cost efficient at the moment :)
