What a SEASON!!!! ;D The SHarks and CHimaeras go head to head in the last game of the season to see who wins Division 1. Division 2 is still undecidecd but Excaliburs and Bartenders are close. The Bartenders, Excaliburs, Penguins and Beagles may get the last wildcard slot. This should be a wild weekend!!!
DIVISION 1
TEAM REC
Starfire Empire Chimaeras 8-4-0
Indianapolis Sharks 8-4-0
Platteville Penguins 7-4-1
Cincinnati Beagles 7-5-0
Anchorage Snow Bunnies 6-6-0
DIVISION 2
TEAM REC
New England Excaliburs 7-5-0
Star's End Bartenders 6-6-0
Ohio Nuts 5-6-1
Atlanta Soul Stealers 3-9-0
9thSkyFlyer Cougars 2-10-0
-
For wildcards - is it 1 per division, or 2 total for best records? (So 4 playoff teams)
Random Musings on 1 WC per division scenario
Winner of Chimaera's Sharks is Div1 winner, hands down.
Loser of CHA/Shrk will be 8-5, and might not even make the playoffs depending on other results as follows.
IF Penguins win, they'll be the wildcard due to having 8-4-1 record, which (should) beat 8-5.
If Beagles win, and Penguins lose; it'll be down to either points scored or head2head tiebreaker between the loser of cha/shrk and the Beagles. Not at home, cant check tiebreaker type stuff.
If Beagles and penguins lose or tie, the loser of CHA/SHRK is the Div1 wildcard.
Snow bunnies are eliminated from conention in the 1 WC per division scenario
DIV II:
Excaliburs have clinched a playoff spot in the 1 WC per division scenario
Bartenders need to win, and hope Excaliburs lose in order to have a chance at the title; but should be Div II Wildcard.
Nuts need a win+ an Excaliburs win+Bartenders TIE+Tiebreaker help to become DivII wildcard
Soul Stealers/Cougars are eliminated
If the wildcard spots are for the top 2 non division champs - it's a whole different ballgame.
Div 1 champ -> Winner of Shrk/CHA
Div 2 Champ -> Excaliburs OR Bartenders with help
2 WC Teams: -> Any 2 teams with a 7-6 record or better and with tiebreaker help have a chance to be WC. Nuts, Soulstealers, Cougars are eliminated from contention

I believe there are two wildcards teams that can come from either division.

Standard League (SL) Playoffs
SL Playoffs: Playoff Bracket Background
The fantasy playoffs begin in the 14th week of the NFL regular season. Round One of the playoffs takes place during the 14th and 15th weeks of the NFL regular season, while Round Two spans the two final weeks of the NFL regular season (weeks 16 and 17). In each playoff game, the team with the highest combined point total after two weeks advances. Each team will have the opportunity to change their active roster between each week (essentially "halftime" of the fantasy game) of playoff play.
All teams continue to compete throughout the playoffs. The top four teams -- two division champs and two wild card teams -- compete for the League Championship. Division champs are the teams that win the East and West divisions. The two next-best teams according to the tiebreaker below are the wild card teams. The wild card teams may come from either division. The top-ranked division champ plays the lowest-ranked wild card team.
The remaining (5th through 8th/10th/12th depending on league size) teams compete in the consolation bracket.
SL Playoffs: Playoff Seeding and Tie-Breakers
In the event that two or more teams have identical won-loss records at the conclusion of the Fantasy Football regular season, and have played the same number of head-to-head games between them, the following tiebreaking system is employed:
1 - Overall record *
2 - Head-to-head record **
3 - Overall points
4 - Head-to-head points
5 - Division record
6 - Overall points-against
* Note that Overall record is based on winning percentage. Therefore, a team that is 8-5-0 and a team that is 7-4-2 have the same winning percentage, and thus would be considered tied for overall record.
** Note that head-to-head record is based on the number of weeks won or lost during the season. If Team A defeated Team B 88-60 and then lost to Team B 92-91, their head-to-head record would be 1-1. The number of points scored in these games would be taken into consideration only if tiebreaker No.4 -- head-to-head points -- is necessary.
In the event that three or more teams have identical won-loss records at the conclusion of the season and have played a different number of head-to-head games between them, head-to-head records are not used as a tiebreaker. Instead, the following tiebreaking system is employed:
1 - Overall record
2 - Overall points
3 - Division record
4 - Overall points-against
Note: If there is a tie between three or more teams, and one team advances out of the tiebreaker, the remaining teams are then compared starting at the beginning of the tiebreaking formula until all ties are settled.
Please see TIEBREAKER EXAMPLES for more information.
You will receive an e-mail describing how any ties in your league were resolved.
Tiebreaker for Playoff Games
In the event that two teams have the same number of points at the conclusion of their two-week playoff game, the tiebreaker for playoff games is each team's original seeding in the playoffs.

Ok, since WC is the top 2 best record after the division winners:
My predictions:
D1 champ is either Shrk or CHM
D2 Champ is Excaliburs, unless Excaliburs lose, Bartenders win, AND have favorable tiebreakers
Wildcards:
Eliminated teams: Snow Bunnies, *Bartenders, Nuts, Soul Stealers, Cougars
(Bartenders COULD still be W/C eligible if this weeks matchups would allow for every team but lose that's 7-5 or better record to lose, except the winner of shrk/chm)
There will be 4 teams vying for 2 WC spots:
Loser of Shrk/CHM, Penguins, Beagles, Excaliburs
The only WC team that controls it's WC destiny is the Penguins. A win, and they're in. A loss, and they're out; a tie, and they need tiebreaker help.
Final prediction - NONE ;) I'd need full access to H2H records/points etc before making a best case/worst case scenario summary; and prediction.

I have a prediction, a great ending to a very good league. This is how it is supposed to work. Tight to the very end of the season.
This weekend should rock!

GG on crushing my Chimaeras ;)
-
Down with the BCS playoff System ;D :P ;)

GG on crushing my Chimaeras ;)
Thanks, but it was a close one until the end! I hope to see you in the playoffs!

AND THE RESULTS ARE IN!
Sharks V Chimaeras in a rematch
Bartenders vs Penguins
Interesting. VERY interesting
-
Nothing like a 35 point effort from the seattle Defense to get me the win.
7 guys on the team = 32 points
1 defense = 35 points...
Better to be lucky than good I guess.
-
Woot! I made it.
Thank you Matsukasi for the aid last week! I'm just lucky you weren't in my division or I'd be out.
-
I was pretty sure you were still alive, Chuut. I'll have to settle for trying to win the consolation bracket. Good luck to the final four.

Agh! Not the Chimaeras AGAIN! How did they get to be the number 4 seed? They shoudl be the number two seed. I was lucky to beat them last week and now I have to play them two weeks in a row!
-
Simple reason -> Penguins finished 8-4-1, taking #3 seed.
#2 seed is for lowest % division winner (according to the league site now, Excaliburs NOT Bartenders)
#4 seed probably came down to 2nd tiebreaker - highest points scored. Beagles/Chimaeras split H2H
And something tells me i'll be lucky to outscore you ;) I backed into the playoffs :)

Funny I looked and I was in last night, now I'm out......grrrr
I think Indy fears to face me in the playoffs and changed the rules, ;) :P ;D
I guess the tie breaker was based on overall total points rather than head to head total points. The Excaliburs and I have the same record and were 1-1 vs each other but he had more total points which was higer priority in a standard league. I had more head to head points, and a better intradivisional record which would have given me the win in a customised league according to its tie-breaker rules. A very close race indeed.
-
Indy - wanna clarify which tiebreaker procedure the league used on this one?
-
I believe this is it

I think i made a HUGE mistake 5 minutes before gametime this week.
I benched Brady RIGHT before kickoff - and he promptly turns in a 24pt performance :'(
-
That's ok, I started Brad Johnson! You have nothing to worry about! LOL
-
Ugh, I've got miserable performances from all of my players this week. I hope you guys fared better. I was 10 and 3 and I'll probably not make it out of this week. Started:
Carson Palmer - 5 points
Chad Johnson - 2 points
Joey Galloway - 3 points
I mean, what's with that? The sad part is my opponent is still starting Terrel Owens, so I'm guessin' he dropped out and didn't pay attention at all or something. He had Rudi Johnson rip it up for him this week, though, and Tomlinson isn't doing too shabby, and then Witten scores for him so I'm guessin' it's all over since Mike Anderson did next to nothing this week, and Nate Keading didn't do squat for me (I have rackers, but I was busy late in the week so I picked up Keading when Rackers was said to be out or questionable, now it looks like he's still putting up the points. Aaaargh!). Life is pain!
-

I lucked out. Bledsoe put up 24.
However, there is no way i'm winning against you - i dont have a RB OR WR that can match LJ's production.
I'm up by a wee bit - and need to hope NO thrashes Atl on monday to win the 1st half of our game ;)
-
You kicked my butt. Next week shouild be very exciting!

You'll probably still 'win' this half of the round. Somehow i dont see Atl's D/ST not getting some combination of sub 21points+sacks+ints to stay below 5 for the game. VERY similar this week to how I lost to you the first time early in the season. Barring a SEA type performance last week - the 2nd half of the round should be quite close :)
-
You're playing a Starfleet Fantasy Football league and you didn't invite me? I'm hurt.
Well, in the one league I'm playing in, I finished tied for first, and got a bye this week. It figures, since my starters all had their game of the year. Hell, Matt Hasselback threw for 4 TD's. Naturally, they'll crawl back under their rocks next week when I need them.
-
Well, you can stick a fork in me. My league had it's first week of playoffs. My guys didn't perform at all. Still, I would have won if I had start Eli Manning and Samkon Gado instead of Carson Palmer and Mike Anderson. I averaged at least a hundred points a game all season, the playoffs hit and BLAMMO! 50 points. Grrrrr. The organization that's started the league is disbanding, so maybe I can get in with you guys next year (You guys had better be here.). :D

Father Ted, I posted an open invitation! I am sorry you missed it
