Title: House Leaders
Post by: Hexx on December 05, 2005, 10:01:15 am
It was the original intent of the design team (well,of mine)
to assign the C7's that were available to the house leaders.
Sort of as a "thanks" for assuming the role.

It's been brought to my attention that some of you may not
actually wish to use one, if that's so could you either post it
here or let me know?

Who in their right mind would NOT want to fly a C7?

Who in their right mind would NOT want to fly a C7?

-People that don't want to be humilated when I kill theirs with a D7 and a pointy stick
-People that are WAY to nice for their own good
- Dunno, but it was brought up that some might not want one.. maybe they like F5's?

Not everyone needs to compensate as much as you sweetie.

I will admit that I need to compensate for a small Klink E-Peen :)  lol

I was about to say me and realized something... no one has ever accused me of being in my right mind.

I currently plan to be in ships no larger than the F series hulls.   So anyone who needs to compensate with flying anything bigger... F' you.

Just how many internals can a G-2 do to a C7 and live to tell the tale?

Me.

I'll be in the D7K for the whole server (except for when I've been blown up and booted to a smaller hull)

I'll think about it ... likely not as I'm not sure I want to create like 40 accounts to give them all
C7's at the start .. it'd be the 10 original, then if they're captured, then if they're capped again..
Maybe just a huge VP bonus for being able to display your enemies flag ship as a museum for children over your capital?

I think more can be done.  I may even get the chance to prove it.

Like this house would use it as a museum piece.  It was your words that said we could not afford to build more bigger better ships.  Now that we have the means to take one from the enemy you force us to place it in a museum(voice raising during last few words)?  Why if you were standing here in front of me you would actually need a grave(deep dark voice). How about allowing it to be used by the capturing house but only if they have lost their own original in combat (destroyed or captured).  No extra accounts need be created.

Since there would be no c-7s in the yard, a new account would be needed...

unless there were a super secret way to buy them in a super secret webyard system that had super secret passwords and handshakes, and a treehouse...yes a treehouse

C7's likely will need to be in the yard. The AI needs to be able to build that class. Hexx can simply price them out of our range.

What about this,
Why not treat KCW like GW and have build points, that way their is enough variety for fun but with enough restrictions to take out some of the larger vessels.

Mainly because you didn't praise Kool-Aid

too late now  :-[

It's also because KCW is trying to have people fly Klink
Not drone type ships, not lumbering dreads, no mass fighter launches etc.

I can (imo) keep it "reasonably" fluffy if I don't have any of them, but if you allow multiple C7's
then why not dreads, why not droneboats, why not carriers etc
Then I have to balance rules for fielding all of htem, have a system for shuffling them around and
the server simply becomes another heavy metal fest.
1 C7 lets the house leader have a ship that *should* be able to beat anything else on the server
in a 1 on 1, but that isn't so tough it will dominate the server.

Is it only the house leader that can fly the C7 or can they designate another pilot(s) to fly it while they are away?

I ask this because I'm in a different time zone.

Dunno yet,
I've thought about it but..
a) want to avoid having the C7's on 24/7
b) want to avoid any possible claims of
"oops I wasn't suppose to have it wen I lost it.. can we have another?"

It's possible (probably likely) that a house will be able to designate one other
pilot that can use it, but again, no excuses will be accpeted if it goes boom

Not to suggest anything, but a real team player would probably just move...

lol

You should take up politics... 8 lines of response and no definitive answer, lol. The other issue is, what if a house leader should unexpectadly find themselves unable to play for a few days or something. Maybe limit how often then C7 can be swapped to another player? (Once per game day?)

Re transfer of C7 class ship..

My first reaction was no they should not be allowed to transferred to different pilots..the reason was simple you wanted limited C7 on the map..

That being said the questions of being away for a period of time etc does come up and I can see where being able to tranfer a c7 makes sense..

Perhaps allow the transfer of a c7 but -- with the provision the new pilot must fly it for a min of 48 hrs before any transfer back is allowed...

Would prevent it from just being used on two shifts during the same day..

No one from my house will be using the C7 but me... That is simply because I dont trust them with it.... lol..... people like Ryker and Sochin thinking it is some sort of CLC or something.  <snicker>

I agree. 48 hrs at least.
The ability to transfer capitol ships instantly, IMOPO, is...(remembers he's in open forums)... silly.
You wanted a Capitol ship, now fly it!  :-\
Choose wisely the Captain who flys the Precious!  ;D

Only comment to this transfer idea with time limits.  Let's say I fly it all night, then pass it to Risky.  He starts flying it for say 8 hours.  He then flies it for 8 hours the next day, and 8 hours before he gives it back.  I take it back and fly it for 8 hours right away.  He can't give it back for 48 hours but it has just been flown for 40 hours in a 64 hour span(8+48+8).  Good thing we dont want a C7 ship dominating time online?

I do agree that it should be allowed to transfer due to RL ect. but perhaps have a limit of say at least 12 hours of notimefly zone from time of transfer, each way.  This does not really have to be recorded by the house leader and other pilot in the main forums for all to see(because all would know the C7 is offline for that time guaranteed) but be recorded for viewing at least within the respective team forums for verification by any house leader or admin that asks.
