Something Light from your resident Jessie Helms 8) ;) ;D
I voted for KFC!! IT PAWNS ALL OF CHICKEN OUTLETS!
OWNED :)
Hey, its the new year's eve, I am " almost " in a good mood, some bastard will ruin it tomarrow..
-
Never had Popeyes, but A&W chicken beats that kentuky fried pidgeon crap.
-
I haven't had Popeyes in a very long time (they don't have one here, can you believe it?), but from what I remember it was fairly good if you got the spicy stuff.
-
I prefer to do it myself...fried chicken, homemade dumplings, mashed 'taters, and some sort of vegetable.
But then, I love to cook
Mike
-
Popeyes... the only fast-food restraunt where you can get redbeans and chicken at the same place!
-
had to vote for KFC since its part of the company I work for. (would also vote for A&W since they got bought out by our compnay too)
-

LOL... guess you'd have to try the kfc in the one horse town I live in... changing the deep fry oil is a new years tradition.
A three piece meal is a sure fire cure for constipation though...
What was the chicken that kfc used to have... tender roast? Now that I did like, didn't have to chew through an inch of batter to get to the meat.

Eww,,, Gotta change the oil, its totally a resterant by resterant basis, looks like you live near a KFC owned by a slacker!!!! not good :) well done KFC is a yummy thing. hehehe
-
KFC all the way. I tried Popeyes a couple of times and the batter was gross.
Speaking of A&W, I loved it as a kid when they brought the food out to your car and served the root beer in glass mugs. Great onoin rings too. I hadn't seen one in decades until one opened nearby so I tired it. It was a huge dissapointment, typical fast food chain burgers, paper cups, not much selection, standard drive-thru, and the onion rings were the armor plated, prefrozen type like Burger King's. :P

KFC 4 (30.8%)
Popeyes 4 (30.8%)
Other 5 (38.5%)
^ hmmm. a tie with other winning. KFC!! KFC!!
* I am eating some right now.. munch,munch,munch..
got coupons too! :) I am a frugal bastard!!

ROY ROGERS!!!
They are hands down the BEST! Too bad they left NY... :'(

never ate at Roy Rogers. not many around here.. I think they are more a western deal. perhaps a truckstop or two near here.
this is off theme subject, but whats the deal with Sonic Burger? I see ads for them on TV but they aint near here.
Hmm...
-
None 'round here, neither. :( (Not that I should be even eating that many burgers... or back on topic, fried chicken!)
-
Popeyes of course! MMMMMMMMMMMM, the Col. could never come up with that recipe.
-
There's a Roy Roger's chicken place? We had a Kenny Roger's Roasters around here at one point (the taste wasn't worth the price in my book).
Btw, they still have an old A&W or two around here in Oregon. There is one at the coast with the old drive intercom/menu's and the root beer (we had one in Eugene when I was a kid, but it's now a chinese restaurant) is served in frosty glass mugs! Mmmmm. Most of the ones in my area, though are paper cup versions, but every time I go to the coast I make a stop for some rootbeer.

If you knew how Roy Rogers made them, you wouldn't eat their chicken... ;)
-
Church's Chicken is better, so I voted for "Other", but you have to admire the side items at Popeye's, and the chicken is prety good too.

Last Roy Rogers I ever saw was there in Pennsylvania. Pretty good eatery. But Chicken, Yuck all around. ;D

I used to dig Church's too when we had one. Mmmm, I gotta have some chicken now. How can you not like chicken? I guess I'm just a fan of most meats, though. I miss living in Alaska where there was a lot of variety floating around all the time. People giving you a little of this or that because they had extra (I loved it when we had friends living across the bay from Homer. Fresh crab and shrimp all the time. MMMM!)

Really...my first job was at the local Roy Rogers in high school.
The buttermilk biscuits...ahhh...those were second to none! :)
-
Charlie's Chicken... local chain here in the midwest... yumm..
Bojangles used to have Cajun coleslaw that was awesome, but their spicy chicken, while tasty, would give you a bad case of ass lava the next day. :o
-
Gotta go with Popeye's. The thing is, you gotta get the spicy. The mild has no seasoning to speak of, but the spicy is da bomb.
-
I would never eat at a Popeye's because.... well, because they're called "Popeyes"!
I did have a Big Mac yesterday for the first time in maybe 10 year.... (I dunno, I was just in a mood or somethin'). And today, I had my annual White Rat... err... I mean Castle.
Hey, what're you lookin' at?!? I eat a salad once a week whether I need it or not! >:(
-
And they said there was nothing that could unite conservatives and liberals...but mentat and i might one day meat and have a fun & lively discussion over a bucket of the Colonel's chicken.

Doh . sorry I missed this EmeraldEdge, Years ago when Sirgod was just a little Godling, My mother decided that Banquent Boxed chicken was so good, that I would eat it every day for Lunch and Dinner for almost a year. now in Mothers Defence, she's insane, and I was only 8. to this day, I avoid Chicken like I would a Kid with Measles.

Oh, and another KFC thing...it's the best damn place to eat in Bahrain!

Dam* that's a funny Freudian slip! :notworthy:

As often as I've corrected Mentat's spelling I thought I'd give him a chance to correct mine...(okay, okay, I missed it for real when I posted that but I thought the excuse was a good one...)
-
Kenny Rogers wasn't fried, it weould be like comparing Boston Market to KFC so its not in the same category. But on the other hand Kenny Rogers was much better than Boston Market. Growing up in Phoenix there was a fried chicken place called Pioneer and that was the best fried chicken of the day, but I would have to go now with KFC, especially if they would bring back there spicy recipe. Living in Phoenix we see and eat things that other markets don't.

The great thing is that it works on 2 levels. The sexual double-entendre, and the eating meat at KFC ;D
-
bump!!!! keep it going!!!
KFC KFC!!!!
-
Neither ;D
I dont eat fried chicken that much anymore.
:dance:This is now finally my 500th post :singing:
-
Mary Brown's is the bomb...though it is an Atlantic Canada chain (with some spots in Alberta). Greasy as hell, but tasty!
I do like Popeyes though, and KFC is crap.
-
I don't like either. I prefer homemade chicken. Not something that has been deep fat fried in 10 gallons of whale oil. Jezz, eat one piece of KFC and the whole works are greased up like one of Judges boy toys.

^^^^^^^^
Vomits just thinking about it. bah.
now back to the chicken, Popeyes chicken is inferior BUT the sides rule. The beans and rice is very good, but I like KFC flavors over Popeyes. the only time I have ever had " bad " KFC is if the store itself is bad, some have lax managmenet, they let the chicken set out too long, if it aint fresh or sits under the heat lamps too long it can get booty.
-
voted other for smithfields :).... i used to work at KFC... you acutally think i'm going to eat there!!!! o hell no
-
Have to go with Popeyes. just because I like the sides a lot better. The Beans and Rice is a meal in itself. ;D

Like I said, Beans and Rice are the only thing that rules over KFC. :)
-
never liked Chruches Chicken however, Frozen Chicken from swanons taste better
-
Wild Wing Cafe!!!!
Not strictly a fast food place, more of a bar, but they do serve great wings and great beer!
-
I don't mind KFC, though i don't think they have "Popeyes" over here in the UK, if they do i haven't come across one.

i like my hush puppies :)

This is easy....KFC.....doesn't one take his/her life into their own hands by going to areas that have Popeyes?
When scouting out a concert location in Wash DC(road trip) I took note that I had to hang a left by the Popeyes.....nice neighborhood

KFC includes a 'mystery' piece when you order the whole bird. Everyone else's bird is 8 pieces, KFC's is 9.
My lunch order:
Boston Markets chicken
Popeyes red beans and rice
Browns chicken for Biscuits and gravy
MMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmm good !!!
Almost forgot about the 'cajun sparkle'.. gotta have it on yer red beans fer sure !
-
Hmmmm How does one type an upchuck noise?
ewa? Ugahw? woooahhh?
Fast Food and Dead Bird do not mix. Ever.
Here's a quote for ya....
"MTV is to music what KFC is to chicken." Louis Black
If you find yourself temporarily insane and actually INSIDE a KFC, please note this important safety tip:
NEVER (I did say never) eat the biggest popcorn chicken piece.
Do the math: It cooks for a fixed period of time, and the biggest one is the coldest.
Two words for ya: Sal and manela
Bon apa freckin 'tete

Life is terminal none of us are getting off this planet alive, if I must die it wll be with the spicey KFC chicken in my guts, and the Bass ale in my hand.
Love the stuff. The Potpie is good too!! might get a 3 peice tomarrow :)
-
shameless greasy chicken lover bump. ;)

the potpie is made with yesterdays leftover chicken FYI... enjoy....
-
Why don't you guys ask the NYC Dept. of Health what goes on in the kitchens of some of the world's classiest restaurants?

and every bite is akin to heaven!!!!, I have seen them unload a KFC truck, think the potpies are pre-made like most food service. I worked 7 years in Dietary Dept in a large nursing home :)

Yep they fined a 5 star resterant in Boston because of mice turds and it being unclean, I forgot the name though, let me see if I can find it.
cant find it it was a while ago, all resterents can get bagged for code violations.

The resterent is supposed to chuck the old chicken after a while and make a new batch, like in life, some resterants take short cuts, and illnesses take place, but every food joint is like that, some are worse than others.
I have had eatten bad KFC before. bad managers take short cuts and thus make bad product.
-
Bump!!!!
gott a bucket this weekend, yummy!!!
* Urp *
-
I still say Popeyes beats the Hell outta KFC any day. It's possible that I might find some other chicken restaurant that I would like better than Popeyes, but it hasn't happened yet (although Chicken Express comes close if only because of their sweet tea).
-
Well.. watch "Supersize Me" and it'll cure you of ever wanting another McNugget..
-
I had to watch that for a class a few semesters ago. It was disgusting.

Well hey, at least McDonalds can say they carefully screen their chickens before they manufacture McNuggets. :-X
-
never had a bad eating experience at KFC
the one I go to has the Colonel's recipe down solid, not too greasy.
you must have went to a KFC where they dont give a "bleeP"
fastfood, and a lax staff = Yuck
-
I know of a bad KFC, but I've never eaten there. All you have to do is walk in there and you can tell it's filthy and lousy.
