Title: Star Trek Nemisis
Post by: ApolloMissions on January 08, 2006, 12:58:47 pm
The best part of Nemisis is when Data sings at Riker and Troi's party.

I thought the best part was the box office take, thus proving that those in charge weren't minding the store properly. ;)

the only thing i enjoyed was the CGI.... i thought it was rather well done.  However what really annoyed me about the fight scenes is that they thought way to 2 demensial.... ur in space... your enemey is not going to be dumb and be on the same plane as you....

Neither does most of that movie.

Say what you want too about the Star Wars prequels...I've never been as dissapointed in a movie I'm predisposed to like as I was when I saw Nemesis.

Insurrection sorta had a plot, hence, it has more positive values than Nemesis.

I always looked at Insurrection as one of the most Poetic of the ST movies. I can find Problems though with most of them, However, I always wound up enjoying them for the most part. I wish I could say the same of the Phantom menace. Jar Jar just ruins that one for me.

Insurrection is one of the two Trek movies that I just can't really enjoy.

I completely agree with you about the Phantom Menace, though.  Not only did Jar Jar comletely ruin an already weak story, but he's responsible for the rise of the Emperor and the downfall of the Republic because his actions in Attack of the Clones.  Between Episodes I and II, he went from being an annoying but harmless idiot to being and annoying and dangerous idiot.

I can understand that. It's kinda like me with ST V. Probably a bad movie, But It holds something Personal to me, as I and a few of my friends back in the Day Climbed El Capitain. When V came out, It just strenthened that bound as silly as It Sounds.

Fair enough

Star Trek V is the other Trek movie that I can't really get into.  I really like the Yosimite scenes, but they really don't have much to do with the rest of the movie.  Other than that, the only thing I like about it is the bits of Trek trivia it introduces, such as Sybok and his background and information about McCoy's father.  Other than that, it's a complete waste IMO.

Too bad about Data.
Hope LaForge, O'Brian or someone will X-fer his mind into the other "Case".

There was always the odd/even split in ST movies. The odd numbered ones tended to be a bit(3 and Generations), or sometimes very weak(5 and Insurrection), while the even numbered ones were usually pretty good yarns. The only even numbered one I didn't like was Nemesis because Berman and Braga totally screwed up the timeline, again!, on their way to proving that it was time to give the franchise a breather while saner heads at the studio tried to put Star Trek back together after B&B wrecked it.

If they do make another movie anytime in the near future, I'd use DS9 as the setting. Bring back Sisko, Worf, Odo, Quark and the rest of the crew, but leave the TNG crew home, or better yet, have them unable to respond to a fill in the blank(Borg, Dominion, Cardassian) threat because they're all visiting fill in the blank(Vulcan, Rigel IV, Risa) for a conference on the need to understand why the above chosen threat wants to destroy the Federation and if we can just listen to them, everyone will feel better about themselves.

For a 11th movie I'd use somthing like a species 8472 massive attack, something that could start some new series.

I would love to see Sisko return from the Prophets in the next Star Trek movie.  I wouldn't mind them featuring a few TNG cast members, but it shouldn't be all about the TNG crew.  I would like to see a mix of TNG, DS9, and VGR cast members in the next movie along with perhaps a few original main characters.

They could finally promote Picard to Admiral and have him teaching at Starfleet Academy (I have always thought this is what would happen to Picard after he's done being a Captain).  They could treat Riker and the Titan like they treated Sulu and the Excelsior in Star Trek VI.  The movie should focus on Sisko returning from the Prophets so he can deal with some new threat.

They should have Picard RUN Starfleet Command... from the Enterprise-E!

That would be nice indeed.
But still, I'd have Locutus run it.  8)  ;D

They need Picard to retire and Riker to run star fleet.  I liked Nemesis however.

Welcome back!

Worf should run Starfleet.

I always wanted somebody to make another Klingon movie.  Everytime there's a ST movie with Klingons involved, the movie does well. STIII, STIV (the ship), STVI, STVII:Generations.  All these movies also have the more military minded, realistic character development writers involved:  Nicolas Meyer and RDM.
