Im running mb at 8x6 and want to do 1280x1024. How do I change that?
Also, thinking about getting a 19" 16x10 LCD. Anyone know what would happen if this game is run in 1280x960 mode or 16x10?

SFC.ini file.
Edit the "lowres=X" line. IIRC, 0 = 800x600, 3 = 1024x768...
You'd have to guess at the rest.
IIRC, MagnumMan's EZ-INI program could make the resolution edit stick...

EzINI is the most reliable way to set it: http://www.khoromag.org/taldren/setup-ezini.exe

ya, but I set easy INI then wont it overwrite other stuff? ... nm, ill copy the ini, run MM's api and then find out what it changed. Then Ill update my orifinal. Thx guys!
I have some cool screen shots of a ship I've been working on forever Im gonna post soon. Just wondering if in game screenies will look better at higher resolutions.

yes, the higher resolution you run the game, the higher the screenshots come out, just check the size of the screenshot file...LOL.
I run my game in 1600x1200 resolution and the screens come out very nice...example:

PS. 1600x1200 is "Lowres=6"

Gotcha!
I'm gonna try 5. Bets thats what... 1280x1024? What about 16x10? Anyone know if it supports wodescreen? I can imagine it would... cuz when you press 'D' in combat and the left side control window goes away giving you a larger battle field view... imagine that but with the control panel at the same time... ::drool::

The "Lowres=" line depends on the directx modes that your video card supports.
P.S. please mind the lag introduced.
-
no lag caused here ;)
Runs smooth as silk at 1600x1200 with multiple ships/drones/fighters/asteroids...
-
Just thought I'd throw that condition in. High game resolution and high poly models have the potential to add significant lag, depending on your system capabilites. Just test any changes out with a couple carriers in a maxed out singleplayer skirmish to find out.
-
I would think that any decent PC with a 6800/X800 and up video card wouldn't have a problem running at higher res's.
-
Bonk still has dial up and 450MHz PC with an old Voodo 3dfx card, lol!

Of course there is still another way, use the utility provided with SFC SFCOPSetupMFC.exe. It doesn't seem to provide all the possible resolutions but it does basically work.
