do they not realize that if they cut out the profits at the pump, then the petroleum companies will just up the prices on the fuel oil and NG that they sell to the power companies?

The power companies would like that,because then they could also raise their prices a little above the new necessary rates.

Oh... or the oil companies could just start reducing fuel oil production to create an artificial shortfall, just like they would in the event of a price cap.


As long as even ONE STEP of the process dependson oil companies, then it's going to stay expensive.



Best to start building reactors by the dozen and desalination plandtto go with them and just shoot the eco-freaks that protest. ;D Only getting completely off fossil fuels will solve this!

I do not know about your power company, but Austin energy is owned by US and regulated by US, not profiteers!  ;)

Now in Sethan's hood, TXU on the other hand, they are profiteers!  >:(
