Yes, tis true
The Klingon Civil War has ended. While the Houses were busy trying to decide who looked best in leather, the
Lyran Empire moved in and took over.
All Hail the Lyran Empire.
Thanks to all who showed up, all who played, all who did anything at all I should thank you for.
Special thanks to Bonk for the nifty map, and to DH for actually setting up the thing.
The House that was in the lead (before falling to the magnificent Lyran navy) will be announced shortly sometime.

I guess all those Lyran ships fleeing from the Kzinti occuaption of the Lyran homeworlds had to run somewhere ;D

Great server, even though R/L events pretty much took me away for the last week or so. But I hadn't flown Klink in over 4 years till this server, and forgotten how much fun they can be. Now, let's get on to LCW, shall we, Hexx? :drink:

LCW would be an excellent time for all pilots to gain valuable time flying and learning Lyran ships. That way everyone would know how to beat Hexx in his Lyran ships ;) Oh wait, everyone already knows that :o

Well, some of us can't fly Lyran worth sh*t, though. *raises hand* So an LCW might not be a bad idea, as long as the execution is good.

I would like to point out one very positive aspect of this server.
Although the lack of change in the shiplist had some bad effects, it had one very positive on in my view. The pliots new to SFC II got the chance to have a good learning experience. Rather than being overwhelmed by a constant variety of foes of different races and differnt ship classes with differnt weapons, powercurbs and tactics, they were able to confront essentially the same types of foe. This allowed them to get alot of practice and take note of what tactics worked and which ones didn't and adjust their flying style. I noticed a remarkable improvement over such a short amount of time which one would not normally see on a more standard server.
Of particular note was alphageek who while at servers start seemed a typical new pilot, was by server end a foe who had to be respected. I salute her and the other new pilots who stuck with it and improved their game by serious degrees. I also salute pilots such as Risky who helped to instruct these new pilots and make them into a much more deadly force.
Although I think that such a limited shiplist will unlikely be used on serious servers for a 3 week period again, I do hope some consideration be given to use of such a list for some fun instructional servers to achieve a similar benefit so that new pilots, as well as those unfamiliar to certain races, have a chance to get some extensive practice in a relatively controlled environment.

I totally agree, but think that if say a LCW was say started on a Friday and lasted till Sunday of following weekend with no new ships, People, especially newer ones, would be getting a great deal of experience and learning while not letting things get stale to any degree for some of the more seasoned pilots.

If I might make a suggestion...Now, this was also suggested about how things might have been done better on KCW. If such a serveris to be run for three weeks, have a set of ships at the start, and then at the beginning of week two introduce an extra ship or two, then do so again at the beginning of week three.

Just out of curiosity, will there be an "official" list of House totals, PvP points, Honor Points and so on? It'd be cool to see how it turned out overall.

Hexx usually, eventually will do so.
He typically waits until someone else does the figures, then Hijacks the totals and post them in his own thread... :P ;D

if it was not listed within 2 days of actually flying it, it cannot be counted, sorry.
