OUTALANCE SHIPYARDS
U.S.S. Beowulf
Beowulf Class Escort

Owner : United Federation of Planets
Type : Escort
In Service : 2374
Out of Service : n/a
--------------
The Beowulf project was designed to increase Starfleet's numbers during wartime, simultaneously providing Starfleet with a large number of better equipped small, powerful escorts to replace the large losses of Peregrine-Class Escorts and wings of tactical fighters in every engagement.
The design is lifted almost entirely from the Defiant-Class Escort, but scaled down to nearly half the size, following the Klingons habit of basing several starships off of the eminently successful "Bird Of Prey" configuration.

Maybe it's the angle, but the rear panels don't mesh well texture-wise with the rest of the ship. I take it they are meant as Armor panels?  No offense if yo uintended it that way, I would suggest a lighter and less azteced version. (if you look closely you can see the dark panels)...

It looks a lot like the Defiant to me. I once was doing something like this to the back of my Black Elk and you told me it looked just like Lance's ships (forgot the name) that I abandoned the design before I finished it. Which I never quite understood since people  often release bashes of new fed ships with only slight alterations. For example maybe just moving a torpedo tube forward.

I was doing a varient on my Black Elk, Changing the shape of the Pylons and you told me it looked like Lance's ship form his site. Which it was based off of, I think I mention that in the credits. I shouldn't have brought it up cause it was over a year ago. I am not sure why it came to my mind, only I guess I took your remark the wrong way and quit working on it.

Yeah you got it spot on, though gratefully not as shiny! :D. I just think those panels coudl be improved a little though. I read teh description and it didnt mention (that I could find) exactly what the purpose of them was? Just curious.  I thought the 20cm of ablative armor was a ship-wide coating...

No clue as to what they are. I couldn't find any information on them either.
