Im off my course... been in hospital for two weeks with my broken ankle, luckily enough my mate brought my lappy in and i decided to work on a ship... I decided to continue with the Typhon... Its about 80% done Im not happy with the textures at the moment but am sticking with em.
Anyone with any ref pics can you send em to me... as it is mostly right.. except the back doesnt look 100% correct...
Ive still got the mid section and the rear section to texture.

Akami strikes again !!!! Very nice man. ;D

Thanks guys ;)
-
Looks pretty good.
There is a blurred texture in the pic the lower side of the upper engine looks like it has a mapping issue. Also a way to help out with windows, use one background with the windows spaced across it to vary the background in them.
-
Wow...Very nice ineed. Love to see it when ou are finaly happy with it. Also, can you check your pm's? I had a problem with your raxton not turning out right...I wont do anything with it till I hear from ya...

2 weeks in the hospital for a broken ankle? Ouch, thats a while, hope it heels up good as new. At least it doesn't effect your texturing ;D
-
Holy *BEEP* that typhon is kick ass, love the detailing
-
Thanks guys... i'll post an update soon..
SF2 ill check them and get back to you ;)
-
If this is what you put out with One broken ankle, I say go for the other one! ;D (kidding)
Now that LOOKS like a highpoly beast...(meaning it appears more than the 7k it is, if I read that right)
-
Looks fantastic and get well soon.
-
wow ive been waiting for like 3 years for this :D looks awsume better thn the 1 i have allready. :D cant wait to d/l her
-
Very nice... I like the attention to minor details, while keping the poly count as low as possible.

I'm somewhat reminded of the Yorktown-class (http://www.starfleet-museum.org/yorktown-minotaur.htm) Earth vessel by this aside from the bulkier hull. It's untraditional Starfleet design, at least to me it looks that way. Doesn't mean it's not one, but it seems too bulky. Even the Defiant or Prometheus had curvier lines and they weren't exactly in line of normal Starfleet design lineage. To me, the Typhon seems more like a civilian-built/ran ship, not necessarily Earth in design (though I'd guess it is due to how it reminds me of the Yorktown-class (http://www.starfleet-museum.org/yorktown-minotaur.htm)), but Federation, likely.
That's just how I feel though. It's still a nice model and I might not pass up using it if I customize SFC2 (provided I install it) with TNG ships and a TNG-era shiplist.

*bump for update*
-
is this supposed to be the typhoon from armada that everyone always talks about?
-
I believe it's from Star Trek Invasion, a space shooter for the PSone. It was something like Colony Wars, a very good thing.
-
Wow, I like this design a lot. I have never seen this design before, but it looks like some sort of Montior type ship (slow, but lots of firepower) or something similar to that Voyager Ep. "Dreadnought" where they discover that big Automated Cardassian ship designed to destroy the Mauquie <sp>. I'm not saying this thing is automated, but might have a large array of Torpedo weapons, Large Cargo space, and ability to take quite considerable damage.

the uss typhon is from the playstation game Star Trek invasion, she is more or less a mobile base that can launch Fighters called Valkeries(Spelt wrong), if i remember right she is supposed to be commanded by Worf, and her crew is made up of Red Squad, in the game you get to use her phaser turrets and torpedoes and fly her fighters but you never got the chance to actually fly her.
she has always been a ship ive had interest for for a long time, and one i thought that deserved a good detailed model that is close to the game and the high poly model that was shown.
Akami has done an awesome job on her and i cant wait to see her released keep it up akami she is bloody awesome
-
Thanks CT.. i will continue with this and get her finished when i get home next week ;)

So... I have stripped the mesh, then re stripped, and rebuilt so its one object, and now im mapping it out.... i built it crumby initially, i have been working non stop to get it game ready, and its done.. i will show wips when i have a bit of the thing textured.. being lazy initially has come to bite me on the ass ;D
-
Welcome home solider.

Thank you sir ;)
So on my way back form Iraq We had to stay in Ad-Udeid, a massive US Airforce Base... and I tell you what.. a big eye opener... the American government knows how to keep its soldiers happy... Loads of great people there, had a great time.
anyone know anyone who is based their?

(http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/2747/wip3nq9.jpg) (http://imageshack.us)
this being the old... messy one..
So I have spent the last two days cutting, chopping, welding, cutting and tidying up a bit, a few days well spent, it may look like i am walking backwards to some, but too those with a trained eye, you can see where the progress and two days have gone ;)

Thank you sir ;)

My supervisor from my reserve unit, a USAF technical sergeant, was deployed there for a few months a couple years ago, and he's chompin' at the bit to go back later this year. Glad we took care of ya, and glad you had fun. ;D
-
That makes two of us FW. I know I made my own version but this looks excellent.
-
Has anyone ever said that MarkyD has a slight similarity to Jean Claude in his sig picture?
Universal Soldier perhaps? :D
-
I emailed markyd ref this model and it would seem he has been deployed to afghanistan training the jordanian army i believe.. He did tell me that he will get this cracked as soon as he has time to get back to modelling.
If you read this markyd.. stay safe mate.
