The Hlai class Bird of Prey was one of the first major warship designs to come out of the Romulan Star Empire since their isolationist efforts following the Romulan war with the early Federation.
The Hlai Class was painted with an impressive predatory bird, and was equipped with a cloaking device and a powerful plasma energy weapon.
Propulsion was simple impulse.
The ship was equipped with a pratical invisibility screen.

Created from plans for the older Hlai Class, the cruiser version was constructed in response to the need for increased firepower and speed.
This modified Bird of Prey intergrated Klingon designs in use by the Romulan Star Empire under the terms of a brief alliance between the two powers in 2268.
A slightly heavier cruiser, the Hlai mounts two plasma mortars and many blast beams.
This cruiser version was a point of great pride in the Romulan fleet, and it - like the Hlai Bird of Prey - were among the first ships to receive an upgrade to medium disruptor technologies once those became widely available.
The RES Sculex detroyed U.S.S. Charleston (Excelsior-class) during Tomed Incident (2311).

Thanks guys, Starforce 2 aquired the permissions for these ships and then assisted me with the port. Huge thanks to Captain Russel for allowing us to port his ships. I just whipped up 2 history's and stats for the birds after doing the ports. I hope you all enjoy them.
