Assault shuttles (nicknamed 'hoppers' by Starfleet ground combat crews) have become an increasingly important component of all starship support craft.
The Kronos-Class was designed around the successful 'aeroshuttle' frame with several added features, courtesy of Klingon military engineers.
Hoppers can deposit a squad of soldiers to any point on a planet's surface after remaining in atmospheric flight for up to ten hours, in addition to air-to-air combat capabilities superior to any interface craft short of a dedicated fighter.

It's a nice  Aeroshuttle (http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Aeroshuttle), but, sorry; the backstory needs working since I don't believe it to be also a Hopper.  But that's just me; You still did a pretty nice job.
