I figured I would post my cherokee mesh to see what you guys think of it. I like it, unlike most of my Fed meshes. Let me know what you think.
-
This mesh seems alot sharper and cleaner than your other ship. Definately a must to complete. I love it. Very very nice.
-
That's very cool looking. I can't wait to see the finished product
-
very cool 8) however, if i was you i'd widen the nacellas some 15-25% :]
-
It's a nice ship set in a Centaur Class-esque configuration with the retro lines of the Sovereign-class Lineage. Not bad.
-
A Sov saucer w/ Ronin nacelles in a Centaur configuration.
Fed likes.
-
Very Centaur-esk, a design I've never really been fond of but you did an outstanding job of creating a more believable TNG design. Though I personally don't see it as a battlecruiser. Destroyer-yes, Light cruiser -maybe. But it is after all your concept ;)

Vewwy Vewwy nice Raven night

What happened to your policy of designing ships with oversized nacelles? Aside from slightly wimpy looking nacelles it is an excelent ship.
-
I can beef up the nacelles. I always liked the Centaur, so this ship is a sort of homage to it, in a more modern style. I also have a Constellation...esq type mesh somewhere, I wasn't too fond of how that one turned out....what I might do is post all of my fed disasters and see if anyone likes them.
Right now I'm going to work on getting the Borg set up (since they are the easiest to finish) and then work on the Hammer. Might throw a few Cardies in before the feds.
-
I wouldn't beef up the nacelles: That seems to me a step back in Warp Engine tech at Starfleet since Starship classes like the Intrepid-class and Defiant-class where compact warp engines work. And it works in the aesthetics of the Cherokee-class too.
-
I agree with Chris. This ship looks better with the nacelles just the way they are. Don't change anything unless you see it necessary.
MP though brings up an interesting point though, about the classification. Personally, I think she could fill the role of Heavy Cruiser quite easily, but maybe would have to push it hard to fill Battlecruiser duty, but it still is doable. Depends on what type of weapons you plan to equip her with.

It's the difference between liquid and solid fuel boosters. ;D
We all know the kick from the solid fuel. 8) Those skis rock!

Good looking ship, but honestly I think it needs something, but I cant put my finger on it right now.
It just seems to be missing something to me.
-
The battlecruiser designation is simply to identify it as a warship, I would place it in the medium cruiser class if it was a Starfleet vessel....not quite a heavy cruiser, but close.
This ship is heavilly armed, however, and was designed and deployed by the Starfleet Marine Corps.

Probably the more detailed plating patterns we see on the sov?
-
How big is she? :D
-
I'm thinking a little smaller than the Akira....too big perhaps? Should she be more along the line of Saberish?
-
For this ship, Saber is too small. Akira sounds like a nice size. Maybe a tad bigger? That's up to you.
-
I'd say 480-520m. Battlecruiser can't be smaller than a saber, otherwise it'd be bumped to escort like the defiant. Or strike cruiser.
-
scale the saucer to below the Akira I think... cause the nacelles are long :P
-
Length : 390 m
Beam : 230 m
Height : 59 m
Decks : 10
This would place the ship about the same size as the Cardasian Galor Class. IMHO a respectable size. Not to big,not too small, but definately feasible.
