Here are 1992 (http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php?action=mlist;sort=posts;start=0) reasons. And the 1st 117 have over 500 posts. But you can argue that there are at least 20 of them that are worthy to be 'good' reasons to play on current servers. ;D

In general; the combination of tactics, strategy, roleplay and comraderie is unlike anything you will find in any other gaming community. It is a game that challenges and stimulates your mind on many levels.
For me, I like to zone out on Breakout (http://lgames.sourceforge.net/index.php?project=LBreakout2) and the like instead of the latest greatest first person shooter built to bolster sales of video cards with artificial standards. HT&L is a crock, my 7 year old Matrox card works just fine thanks.
