Archaeologists and other experts began digging into the sides of the mysterious hill near the central Bosnian town of Visoko last week. On Wednesday, the digging revealed large stone blocks on one side that the leader of the team believes are the outer layer of the pyramid.
"These are the first uncovered walls of the pyramid," said Semir Osmanagic, a Bosnian archaeologist who studied the pyramids of Latin America for 15 years. Osmanagic said Wednesday's discovery significantly bolsters his theory that the 2,120-foot hill rising above the small town of Visoko is actually a step pyramid — the first found in Europe.
Now of course one must ask "How old?" and "Who made them?" and of course "Why did they make them?" Assuming of course that they are in fact pyramids as this report concludes.

and the rebuttal :)

And there it is. A self-described archaeologist, who believes the Maya and others are descended from Atlanteans who came from the Pleiades, has been accepted as a legitimate researcher by many news outlets. His ideas of early pyramids in Bosnia, which is simply not possible, has been accepted as a major discovery. How could this happen?
Appears to be a loon but being a loon doesn't mean he didn't find something.

You just have pyramid envy. It's ok, not everyone can have as big as one as I do.

love the "but its impossible line" the rebuttal takes, and how the fellows request for help from professional archaeologists was cut off. With any luck hes getting his own people trained in the basics and going from there.

hmmm even worse, "They have not been confirmed by archaeologists who have the training and competence to evaluate them. " vs "His call for volunteers even slipped into the Archaeological Institute of America's online listing of excavation opportunities briefly before being yanked" sorry even if he is a loon, this sort of chicken vs egg hypocrisy is a bit over board, if someone's pet thesis is at stake, they need to get the hell out of the way, if not, loan him some one to make sure he does not cause the damage they suggest he is inflicting while at the same time either confirming or debunking his claims.
