Title: Yo Steve and others familiar with BB-63
Post by: Jack Morris on May 03, 2006, 01:03:06 pm
I just noticed the Cher video "If I could turn back time" video. Were those dudes active duty? Who picked them to participate?

Notice the difference between military and punks? Punks would never let her alone to shoot the video in peace, they would crash the place. IMHO.

IIRC the ship was DryDocked, But as for her Crew, I'm not sure. Somehow I doubt they where Soldiers in that video. It could have been , But I doubt it.

There were a lot, officers too. something tells me Pearl would not let that fly with hundreds of actors when you are at CINCPAC.

MTV Overdrive

Enter C, Cher will come up, then pick the video.

I thought when you were there they might have had that video and the whole history on display.

BTW, Leda was there this year. She got a 500 dollar dig cam and a tript to Hawaii before novioboy went to Iraq. Now she dumped him. He tried playing that "I'm God's gift to women cause I'm in a warzone crap." She said "thanks for the cam and trip, seeeee ya!"

I found out a long time ago never, ever to play like you are the sh*te, otherwise sooner or later that is all you are left with.

BB-63 "Mighty Mo" was still on the active duty lists when that video was shot.  Those were active duty sailors and they had a hella lot of rules that they had to follow by.  She wasn't home ported here in Hawaii when they filmed that video, but I do know that it was one of the last neat things that ship did before she was decomed.

Aloha!

I knew you would know your history, girl! I thought they were all active duty people.

They were all active duty people.  I knew four of them who can be seen in the video.  They had a great time making it, and there were a LOT of rules for the shooting...most of which were broken time and again.  One or two actually received extra duty for their violations.  The part where the sailor slides down the turret and dances with her was one of them.

Before they shot the video, Cher was being given a tour of the ship, and escaped her handlers  by rushing down a ladderwell and into a berthing compartment full of guys getting dressed in their dress uniforms.  Cher managed to surprise them, including one guy coming out of the shower who dropped his towel in surprise.  Reportedly she smiled and made a comment regarding his 'equipment'.
