Hi!
I am coming back to the game (SFC OP) after an extended absence. I re-intalled the game on my new system...and I can get it to come up fine, can connect to the Dyna, everything...one problem though. My system supports a different resolution - I have a widescreen 1900x1200 monitor, and the highest resolution that can be set on the setup is 1280x1024. The game does not look like it is loading at the highest resolution -- I played SFC III at this resoultion and it looked much better than Orion Pirates does for some reason.
I am thinking that although I am setting the game at the highest resolution, the game is not displaying at that resolution. Is there some way I can check this (perhaps in the .ini file)? Or is there another setting that I need to check in order for the game to render properly? What about compatibility modes.
I have the latest drivers. I have dual NVIDIA GEForce 7800 GTX video cards (total of 512 MB video memory) with SLI multi-GPU enabled.
Any assistance would be appreciated. I had to turn off visual themes in the compatibility section of the file properties in order to enter my CD code, should I turn it back on? and if so, will that prevent me from joining a mission in the Dyna (as it does with SFC III)?
Thanks for your time.

ZTempest! :o Welcome back! :)
Have you tried using: Khoromag's EzINI (http://www.khoromag.org/taldren/setup-ezini.exe)? edit:link corrected
Also, I highly reccomend a full install of OP+4. (if not at least patch to 2.5.5.2 and fix the shotcut to point to StarfleetOP.exe and fix the start-in parameter and use only that shortcut to start the game)
edit: Disabling visual themes is not required if the shortcut is fixed or if you do a fiull OP+4 install...
I reccomend reading this thread carefully:

or

Wow, I see Rattler is logged in at the moment! Its the return of the Kzin Old Guard! :rwoot:

You should also have your screen resolution set the same for both monitor and game, if they're different it will cause some issues. ;)

What Chut said ;D

Wow!
It is good to see all of these familiar names!
Khormag's EzIni did the trick. I am now downloading OP+ 4.0, and will then see what is available in the Dyna.
Going to take a while to get back into the groove, but I plan on practicing....a lot....and yes...Kzinti. Once a KAT, always a KAT :)
Hmm....maybe I can even revive some of the old newsletters. Is the community still pretty active when it comes to campaigns?
EDIT: Changed "Mirak" to Kzinti.

Oh yes... the upcoming Economy War by Herr Burt (S'Cipio) promises to be a doozie - lots of roleplay. Not qute the numbers we used to have but all the hard-core die-hards are still here.
Speaking of newsletters, the Kzinti Daily is always a hoot... I think Green is just about due for another copy. ;)

There's some more of them floating around here somewhere... would be nice to compile them into one thread sometime.
And yes, once a KAT, always a KAT. ;)
