Living by yourself is great. ;D

Until you realise the landlord is your new parents. :( Rental living sucks.

Not when your apartment is $530 a month including utilities.
-
That's ridiculously expensive, SkyFlier. Where do you LIVE?!
-
Average WHERE?!
-
I was thinking that was fairly inexpensive...
The highest average monthly rents for two-bedroom apartments were in Toronto ($1,052), Vancouver ($984), and Ottawa ($940).
Where I live think average is 650 - 700....
But why pay rent when you can own...??
-
That is cheap. Last one bedroom I rented in the big city was $980/month, and it was nothing special. (drove me to bankruptcy) Its worst out in Vancouver from what I hear. A one bedroom in a slum still costs about $1000. I have since moved to a cheaper part of the country where $500 one bedrooms still exist.
Rental properties in urban areas must make their owners millions upon millions of dollars. Its an ugly business. Paying for space to live in is such an abhorrent concept to me. I could go on...
<Bonk thinks happy thoughts...>
-
Thanks, that's a much happier thought! :)
-
Just throw on a little Sabbath Bonk, and pour yourself a double of your fav...
I'd suggest "War Pigs"...but judging by your avatar and the topic perhaps a little "Gypsy" ;D

You should be living in my community, if you dont mind the bears and coons on your front step that is.
Cost to rent a complete house........$500 a month plus utilities
cost to rent a 3 bedroom appartment..........$450 a month, utilities included
cost to buy a condo...........................$16,000 to $29,000
cost to buy an average house, 1200 sq ft.........$59,000
cost of buying a big house, say 2000 sq ft and up ...........$125,000 to $175,000
cost of buying a 1+ acre lot on a lake nearby(and we have several dozen lakes nearby).............now up,,, still only $40,000
a 4+ acre lot just opened up 2 weeks ago, on a 7 mile long lake, and the lot went for $90,000
Now, these prices have gone up to these amounts due to raise in value increase of 40% in the last 3 years. You should have seen the prices 10 years ago.
And yes, we have cable and apparently just opened up DSL.

Hmmm I thought Dfly lived in TO for some reason.. of course
I also thought he flew Gorn so..
Hexx the woefully misinformed
-
I had a 1 bedroom, 600 sq. ft.(And that doesn't include the closets) in Louisville, Kentucky, for $360 a month. My electric came to around $30 a month, and my cable bill was internet and phone only at about 60 a month.
-
Sorry Hexx, I live a good 6 hours NORTH of TO, in the wilderness.

Ugh... they should pay you to live in Ontario... I mean really, the people you have to put up with!
Only thing worse I could imagine (ok other than some 3rd world country or something like the southren US) is living on the east coast! Gah, inbreeding is a national sport there!

My apartment in Charlotte, NC (in the city) runs me $490 (750 sqft, 1 bedroom). I pay the utilities. That price is pretty low for Charlotte. I've heard some apartments here, in the so-called good part of town, that run up to $1500 a month. If I could afford that for an apartment I would be in a house, which is my goal anyway.
Congrats on your new apt Skyflyer. Those 6 months after graduating college that I lived back at home were living hell. Talk about living different life-styles. (me - nightowl, parents - old, fuddy-duddies) The first apartment I moved into was like a dream come true.
Enjoy. :drink: So when's the party? :drinkinsong: :rwoot:

I live in the Southern US.... on the east coast.
Ya know. Chuut and I live around the Charlotte area. Not to mention several others like Bearslayer, and ............ hmmmm, memory failing.
Sounds like a summer get-together might be in order. ;D

I also thought he flew Gorn so..
Well, he did. Any he flew a Gorn ship very well. <S> I'm sure that's why you remember him as such.
We Gorn pilots just tend to stand out in a crowd. (quite literally)
Once you earn your Brucedom, you can really never go back to being normal. 8)

$530 a month including utilities.... In one of the best neighborhoods in Montevideo, Uruguay...
The neighborhood would be comparable to say Beverly Hills in Cali, or Malibu.

That helps explain me a bit. When I first joined ladder play with starlance, I wasn't very good with fed and whenever I needed to put together a few wins, I flew Gorn. Loved the CDD.

Yep. Flying Gorn ships will get you back to the basics of planning your tactics well. Most plasma tactics, offensive and defensive, are well known. It's the tactics you come with using everything else a Gorn ship has that makes or breaks you in a PvP match. I love to hear about all the new tactical brainstorms pilots come up with for all the different empires. That to me is the true joy of this game.
